You'd think Haslam, Cheek and Pearl, who've known each other for quite some time and clearly have remained in contact, have just got to have had a poignant discussion regarding all this soap opera. If Pearl felt he'd be somewhere other than Knoxville to continue his career, he'd be conducting the exit strategy of "why ask someone who couldn't care less?". Instead he's saying all the right things for a coach-in-waiting........waiting for the axe to fall on CCM and his already agreed upon contract. 'Just a casual extrapolation of presented evidence.

Witch Doctor say ding ding ding! I think we have a winnnner! lol. I agree, he cannot alienate players on the team now that will be back..Pearl CAN win if they stay. cant pee on the leg of the guy who recruited them. Saying all the right things. (?)

Imagine IF Hart announced they were announcing the rehiring of Pearl as mens coach at TBA at 7pm on night next month....my geez I bet THAT would be one of the biggest crowds ever in TBA..

I don't care how nice Martin is or the cards he was dealt he is a loser on the BB court. I am sure he could mentor underprivileged youth on life but not basketball. Oh while I am ranting turn his damn microphone up during his interviews, I am sick of that damn mumbling and am sure it is on purpose. You know Butch loses a game and he gives the press at least twenty minutes or more. Gonzo loses and it is 2 to 3 minutes disgusting.

They make Q-tips for a reason. Use them and maybe you can hear/understand more.

As soon as chrome dome folds in the first round of the NIT... and Mr whisper is cut loose... when's the soonest possible time that we can rehire Bruce Pearl???

You can tell he's wanting to coach Tennessee basketball again so bad. Hopefully he won't have to play this charade anymore. Bring back Bruce!

I am convinced that there is a very good chance that Pearl will have the chance to coach UT again if he wants to. I think if he is not offered, UT will lose a big bunch of their ticket buyers.

Boy, that was one of the dumbest things (outside Kiffin's buyout) that I have ever seen. Mike Hamilton presided over a nice building project and train wreck elsewhere. Bruce really seemed to take all the pressure during that whole season pretty hard. He looked/acted different. Then, before/when getting blown out by an average UM team, he looked like a dead man walking.
He rolled the dice and got caught lying/conspiring. He paid his dues which were over three top relative to other recent penalties. He has handled his firing and punishments very respectfully for three years.
I would love to have him back as our head coach, if CCM does not pull out a rabbit in the SECT / NCAAT.
