I don't want him gone and I don't think he deserves to be over this. If he does anything else however, then he has to go.

Not wanting to leave? Hamilton was the only person to take a chance on him. Would you leave?

yeah. but i meant how many years did we had to deal with people and analysts going through that "waiting for a big program" "picked up by a bigger school" "won't spend his career at a basketball-second school" so often in the early years of his success, while he just really liked it here?

That seemed to happen a bunch earlier in career here (I'm remembering all the talk/rumors of Indiana a few summers back...i thought this has happened more than once though...Iowa maybe?)

Everybody commits major NCAA violations?

In todays world of college athletics, probably 90% of the schools out there do in one way or another. At least the ones having any success. Thats not to say they all do it purposefully, but yes I would say most of them have committed a major violation.

We don't know the depths of what he has done yet. There's stuff turning up every few days.

i dont think the actions are going to really get too much worse here; the bigger issue was not coming clean to the NCAA about it

the only major worry is this comes on the heels of the southern cal stuff...where the main issue was the program lying; now here our program's admitted it at least and come clean and isn't flat out insisting on denying it, so we won't see near as severe a punishment if that route even ends up taken

all that strikes me is if the NCAA were to view this as a "What did we just tell you about don't lie to us?" needed example....but i would doubt anything that harsh

When I was younger, my dad told me not to put your faith in people because they will let you down. Pearl has done that to all of the Vols fans. While he was trying to portray the image of doing everything right and running a clean program, he was violating NCAA rules. These violations weren't on accident either.

I'm tired of hearing everyone makes mistakes and we need to move on and support him. I agree everyone makes mistakes. None of us are perfect, however, actions have consequences. At this point, I really could care less if he is fired. He deserves it. He lied and then came clean 3 weeks later after he knew he had been caught.

I'm also tired of the everyone does it excuses too. If your children lied to you about something they had done and told you they did it because everyone else does it, would you go easy on them? After all, everyone else is doing it. Just because others may do something doesn't mean that is ok or acceptable. Some of the same people who are all over Calipari, Kiffin, and Orgeron for things they have been alleged to do are defending Pearl for what he has proven to have done.

This is the University of Tennessee. If we want to be considered an elite school, the coaches and programs should be held to a high standard. Anything lower should be unacceptable.

LOL at people mentioning Scott Drew.

It would be like a woman divorcing her husband because of adultery and then marrying Charlie Sheen.

Lawrence Frank would be a good hire. He can coach, and I think that his NBA background would help him be able to recruit here.
