What are your thoughts of Marshall's ability to recruit to Tennessee if he were to be the next coach? That would seem to be the big unknown about him. Also, would it be fair to say that his teams are known to be disciplined and defensive minded?

I don't have any reservations about Marshall's ability to recruit.
I think that would be a fair assessment of Marshall's teams.

His stock is in serious decline. SIU has gotten progressively worse the further they get from Weber/Painter. He needs to get things rollng again quick or he's going to regret not getting a better job while his star was on the rise.

Reggie Theus. If he could recruit and win in Las Cruces (41-23 in two seasons) think of what he could do at Rocky Top. His last season at NMSU he finished 25-9 with a one-n-down in the NCAAs.

Just throwing out ideas. If Pearl is gone, that means UT is on probation. If UT is on probation then it will be tough to attract the big boys. Trust me on this one. Reggie took a nowhere program and had them dancing in two years. UT is a destination job that he would thrive at.
