Pearls replacement

I'd go with Marshall. I'd also be stunned if he wasn't on the list if UT had an opening.
If Tennessee even considered hiring Scott Drew, I'd advocate burning TBA to the ground.
Andy Kennedy and Rick Stansbury would both come to Tennessee in a heartbeat if asked.

1. 50-50.
2. Hamilton's fate will be decided by football. Thus, I'd say 20-80.

I honestly think that you can't go wrong with either Marshall or Anderson should we have to replace BP. Just my two cents.

Frank Martin, just the guy to get us out of trouble. He has never done anything shady regarding rules violations as a coach....oh wait...when was that??? Crap...

Honestly, any answer I would give would probably be no more informed than you on these topics.

This thing could just as easily turn out alright as it could totally blow up.

Thanks for the edits. You missed one, but I can make some sense of it. So, gold star for the big boy today.

Wouldn't it be self-evident that I was not very informed on the subject matter, given that I posted the question(s)? So, in that way, you are correct (another gold star) that we are both largely ignorant on this subject. Where we differ is I tried to correct it, and you chose not to.

I call my process, "becoming educated".

You likely call yours, "life".

Hat, who are some young up and coming coaches that would be a viable option?
Mooney certainly fits that profile. Cliff Warren at Jacksonville needs to get over the hump and win his league to enter that class. I think Donnie Jones, now at Central Florida, is on his way up. I still think Kerry Keating has potential, but it is time for him to win at Santa Clara. Cameron Dollar will eventually get a shot in the big time.

Interesting.

That's a blast from the past. Probably would have worked out better if we had hired him in '89 instead of Houston. Then again, that's not saying much.

I disagree.

I'll remind you that Houston was a long-time assistant to the very successful Denny Crum, was originally from the South, and by all accounts was a very organized person who represented the University well.

With those facts in mind, I knew Wade Houston was destined for success at Tennessee. I just knew it.

And just like it'll be with Dooley, too, because they have so much in common.

Thanks for the response. I would think we should be talking to some of these folks now. We are in much better shape to continue with a good program now than we are likely to be in 1 or 2 years from now.

He said he would have "crawled on his knees all the way to Knoxville" for that job.

I'd be remiss if I didn't add Knoxville native and NBA assistant Elston Turner to my earlier lists.
