Pember

I thought they get a free year?
I don’t think you understand. If Barnes had to redshirt him, he would. He doesn’t. So, he won’t be redshirting but he won’t be in the rotation. You are not going to see Pember unless this team is up by 40 points. Playing 2 minutes in a blowout is not being in the rotation.

You sure hate Pember.

I’m not stalking. I’m commenting. I don’t usually even look at the poster name before commenting on a post. I don’t think that you understand what stalking is. Your hatred on Pember keeps popping up chronically.
My comments on Pember pop us because someone started a thread called “Pember.” Do you think that might have something to ****ing do with it?

I’m not going to search your posts, but I noticed “Roustabout” on anti-Pember posts several days ago. And they keep coming.

I’ve commented on this thread that is named, “Pember.” I don’t think he’ll ever contribute and think he needs to transfer. That is nothing personal against the kid. There’s some that agree with me, some who don’t. I was willing to put money on it and had no takers. You?

The OP was a question about why Pember hasn’t had more playing time, not an invitation to chronically bash him.

He knew his playing time was going to be less at TN than with the other options that he had. So I’m not convinced that he’s ready to give up. He still has nearly 4 years left and the 2021 signing class is a point guard and a shooting guard.

Pember just isn't a guy who is ever likely to hit 230. His best path to playing time is to get stronger in his core, hope for 210 or 215 and focus all his energy on defending and lateral movement. His inability to keep anyone in front of him on defense offsets anything he brings on offense right now.

I kind of see it this way too. I just don't understand why people are such homers that they can't handle a negative basketball related post about someone. It not the same as saying his momma is a whore. He is a marginal talent and. I just don't think he fits in Barnes's system.

I agree that Pember is unlikely to be a contributor here, but I understand why folks get tired of people being relentlessly negative about the program that has had an excellent stretch the last four years

Not so sure Gaines will still be here. JMO.

I love Ticket and hope he sees an opportunity to get some serious playing time next year when our two FR stars move on. He still seems to have a few plays where he lets up and gets short meetings with Coach on the sidelines. Overall effort is good, but those exceptions are glaring. I would guess that this free year will factor into his decision processes. Still needs to get closer to the training table. Over all this is a tough year to get minutes. I am going to enjoy this year but the possibility if not probability we will not have Springer, Johnson, Fulky, Pons and even Anosike return will open up a lot of minutes next year. Bet he has a real good idea of what Coach is thinking and will take it from there.
