Pendergrass Resigns From UT Football

A little bit of Adoree info, maybe old but i don't have time to sift through the post and look.

I spoke with Marco Harris today, he is the director of basketball operations here. He and Adoree's father are very good friends. He seemed very sure that the parents have no clue at this point and time who Adoree will choose. According to him, the parents favor Tennessee and would love to see him here. Our coaches have no clue what he's doing either. The coaches still feel UCLA could be a contender here. That's all i have on him. If this is old news i apologize.

This may help but whoever Pendergrass was if on Volnation they had access to this type of information. Skeeter last post was 29 Jan 14. He maybe Skeeter.

Where do you think Hubbs got most of his info?

Uh, I don't know, Not Skeeter? Considering John Brice appears on the coach's show, and VQ as a whole enjoys unprecedented access to AD employees and ongoings, I just assumed there was a formal relationship between VQ and the school. They certainly aren't shy about acknowledging VQ's presence.

First, I don't know who "Skeeter" is, but ok.

There's a difference between having a working relationship with the school and with a staff member, of his own accounting, leaking specific info to a specific writer or site. Especially when that information is only known to a very small number of people because a leak could spoil the deal.

It's no coincidence that a major story is leaked to a site one week and a staff member leaves the next.

They should have put him on leave until after NSD and then let him resign. Now the other schools will be crying wolf that something is wrong in K-Town.

Like it'll make a difference two days before NSD. Come on.

"All of the coaches and players you got to know will still be there, but you shouldn't go to UT because an administrative guy you never met is leaving!"

I don't know who he is either. But I know enough to know he was considered an insider and probably worked in the AD. I take it the leak was the Nike deal. I wasn't aware that "leaked", per se. As I recall, VQ also broke the Smokey Greys a little prematurely too but I don't recall anyone getting fired over that.

So what are the qualifications for this position? I may be willing to make less than $102,000 considering the benefits...

One is an alternate uniform.

The other is a multi-million dollar business deal concerning two large corporations (one coming in and one going out) and a flagship state university.

Bit of a difference.

Was told by someone in the AD today who I trust that Pendergrass leaked the Nike deal to the media. He was approached by Dave Hart and told he would be fired or could step down.

The school had plans for a special announcement or a surprise of some sort, as this affects every sport at UT and is the biggest financial deal in Tennessee Athletics history.

He had his numbers mixed up with how many recruits we could sign.... He originally thought it was a certain number then it was determined it was actually a different number...

Just kidding... I have no idea, but it sounded good when I typed it.....:)

That would be great if VQ broke the story, but Doug Matthews did.

I know you are upset that you lost your biggest account to a rival company, but no need to malign the BITB.

What are you talking about? I'm not upset about anything, I have always thought moving to Nike would be beneficial, but ONLY if the money worked out, because it hadn't in the past. It finally did.

Volquest had their story ready to go and posted it about 2 minutes after Matthews was on the radio. They knew.
