Penn State got screwed

The yellow line looked like it started before the 15 yard line. Treat the 15 yard line like the goal line and it's very very close, but I don't think he gets it

Ahh I see your point about the yellow line starting early. I still feel like he's at the fifteen, however. It's very close though. One of those calls that can go either way.

My question is, did they get the two best teams? Last year they had to put in a mediocre Michigan St team just to fill out the bracket of four. So I can't imagine how far down the talent list they would have to go to fill out an 8 team bracket.

It's even written in their protocol that Conference Championships are a big deal when deciding between similar teams. Quit believing ESPN babble to create stories. Pitt beat Penn State and kept them from the playoff. Blame Peterman if you want.

11-1 trumps 11-2. It's the lazy way to look at it because it's the simplicity of how easy this decision was. This isn't a story, you just want to believe the mouth breathers on TV.

If the Vols would have won out after the bama loss then won the sec championship, and Bama still got in over the Vols this board would be in an absolute meltdown state right now.

Don't kid yourself, Urban Meyer would make his wife sleep with a committee member if it meant he had a chance to get into the playoff. That piece of crap sneaks and snakes his way into everything. Absolute garbage they are in this playoff again.

His wife slept with Billy Gonzalez, so there's that.

I think we have our proof now of a question that was debated earlier in the year.

I don't think a 2 loss Tennessee having beaten Alabama in Atlanta would have necessarily put Tennessee in the playoff or knocked Alabama out of it

I think they would have put Tennessee and Bama in.

So you are in favor of punishing a team for winning their conference?

No one is punishing them for winning their conference. It's just that it is not the only criteria. Remember, Penn State and Ohio State do not have the same record. Ohio State lost a road game by 3 due to a blocked FG. Penn State lost to Pitt and was dominanted by UM. The win over Ohio State doesn't erase that.

I'll ask a question I asked earlier in the thread. If Florida had beaten Bama by a field goal would you have put UF in over Bama?

I don't think we have "proof". Because it's not the same.

What if PSU had lost to an OSU team that was in the West. Still had two losses, but played and beat OSU in the CG?

I think Penn State got screwed. Yes Michigan beat them handily. However, they lost by 1 pt to Pitt. The same Pitt team that upset Clemson at home. The conference championship has been devalued. No need in playing one from this point on if you are undefeated or a 1 loss team. Not worth the risk of losing, or injury to your best players.

Franklin made an impressive appearance on Mike and Mike this morning, but he made it very clear that the days of playing tough OOC teams are over at PSU.
