Penn State scandal (merged)

No, the FIRST SIGN of losing an argument is misrepresenting something somebody said, or just making **** up, which is what you did.

WOW! If I misquoted you by saying that Paterno wasn't in his 80's when this thing first came to life, try some reading comprehension books!

LOL Please feel free to post the link to that quote by me. How long do you think this going to take? You must have that pretty handy.

(tapping my feet, waiting....impatiently before I just call you a liar)

Knowing right from wrong is not the point. Go back to about page 180 and start from there. I'm not going to get into this stupid debate about how much 80 year olds in State College know about the subject of pedophilia.

How's this for something quick! 80 year olds part if you need a reference. For the comprehension part, since Paterno is 80 something now, he wouldn't have been in his 80's in 1998. Sorry I couldn't type it slower!

Just came across Darwins yearbook

I would be willing to venture that the mods appreciate your presence here a lot more than his. Just my opinion.

Thanks. I'm actually using this thread as a valve for relief. I'm absolutely sickened that the something of this nature could go on for so long, with so many people having knowledge and opportunity to protect those kids. Not one damn person stood up like they should.

when I think that there are people in this world who wouldn't do everything In their power to stop a child from being hurt, I just cringe.

This whole stupid argument yesterday began with me stating that the relatively sheltered 70-80 year olds of State College were not all that familiar with the subject pedophilia. Since you aren't aware of that conversation, then you are just making sh_t up. Basically, lying about what you think you know.

Now, one more time....go find a link to me referring to Paterno as being in his 80's back in 1998 and I'll apologize for calling you a liar. Good luck. lol

Oh yeah, and tell knucklehead aka Billy Badass he's on my igore list too. Cant year you Mr Badass, sorry.

Oh no, you go right ahead. And tell the pontificating Lawboy I dont give a crap what he has to say, thus the ignore feature being used.

You guys either missed the ultra-stupid argument yesterday on the subject of pedophilia awareness and octogenarians in State College or youre just playing dumb, that would not be a huge surprise. Rewind 100 pages or so, its friggin hilarious.

No need to go back, I've had the "pleasure" of reading your contradictions in this entire thread. And no, I'm not going to go back and find any of them and show you, so don't waste your time suggesting to do so.

No need for me to call you names like idiot,
You do a competent job of taking care of that with damn near every response you have. It would seem kind of redundant

When you inferred that 80 year olds didn't know about pedophilia, Paterno wasn't in his 80's when it came to light! That was your statement. By you saying that, it's inferred meaning, surely even you can understand this?

OK, thats fine, that stupid nonsense doesn't exist, just like all these "contractions" dont exist either. But if they do, please feel free to copy them here so I can make you look like a... well, you know.

Holey Sh_t, thats quite a stretch. Just another case of some idiot on this board seeing whats not there. I never said Paterno was in his 80's in 1998, and that is not even "inferred" from what I said. Sheesh, get a grip.

And BTW, I also never said an 80 year old in College Station doesn't know what pedophilia is, I made the statement that they were not "familiar" with the subject. Now, go look up the definition of "familiar" and "pedophilia" and tell me if you think Nursing Homes are filled with people who have had a lot of exposure to that.

Hey here are some highlights of an article. Not sure if you have had a chance to read:

SO MANY CHANCES MISSED

1995.
1998.
2000.
2002.
2008.

These dates spanning 13 years share two common threads that run through the entire grand jury presentment. At each stage, boys voiced concern or pain or alarm at the conduct of Jerry Sandusky — or adults witnessed behavior they found troubling or alarming.

And at each stage, other adults dismissed, minimized or failed to act upon those concerns.

It remains to be seen whether any of these actions, or the statements behind them, are a matter for the courts. For now, only two things are certain:

Many of the accounts in this tragic and tangled history conflict with one another.

And everyone cannot be telling the truth.

“At no time was The Second Mile made aware of the very serious allegations contained in the grand jury report,” Raykovitz said in a statement after the indictments. Raykovitz’s statement said the new details “bring shock, sadness and concern,” but said they had no indication any of the alleged abuse happened within charity programs and events.

According to the grand jury, then, here is how McQueary’s eyewitness account became watered down at each stage:

McQueary: anal rape.
Paterno: something of a sexual nature.
Schultz: inappropriately grabbing of the young boy’s genitals.
Curley: inappropriate conduct or horsing around.
Spanier: conduct that made someone uncomfortable.
Raykovitz: a ban on bringing kids to the locker room.

Found this little tidbit Lawvol. Wonder what they say about this?
Happened in 2006

A leader of a women's rights group has asked Joe Paterno to resign over comments the Penn State football coach made about an alleged sexual assault.

Paterno's remarks came a day before the Orange Bowl, when a reporter asked about Florida State linebacker A.J. Nicholson, who was accused of sexual assault and sent home before Tuesday's game.

Paterno replied by talking about past suspensions of Penn State players. He then added: "There's some tough - there's so many people gravitating to these kids. He may not have even known what he was getting into, Nicholson. They knock on the door; somebody may knock on the door; a cute girl knocks on the door. What do you do?

"Geez. I hope - thank God they don't knock on my door because I'd refer them to a couple of other rooms," Paterno continued. "But that's too bad. You hate to see that. I really do. You like to see a kid end up his football career. He's a heck of a football player, by the way; he's a really good football player. And it's just too bad."

They can probably say he's a chauvinistic ass hole who doesn't care about women getting assaulted.

I'm not sure that's the same as child rape, but it seems he has a callous disregard for at least the sexual assault of women.

When I replied to your post, you referenced a article about octogenarian's. Talking about the entire PSU situation. Paterno being at PSU. Paterno being a octogenarian at this present time. Therefore he would be in this group. Got it so far?

Thereby meaning that you would believe that Paterno was not aware that things like this occurred. I merely stated that Paterno was not in his 80's in 1998 when this happened! If you can't use deductive reasoning and figure this out, then you sir have a problem.

Man, I'll be glad when the "octogenarians knowing about pedophilia" argument is over with. Sure is wasting a lot of bandwidth.
