I've been thinking this since the news broke. Yes, there would be outrage about how the bowl is for the players, and none of this is their fault. It still feels wrong to give that university any sort of benefits.
It has a little dirt on it, but I agree w u mostly.

Not worried. I don't think for a second that he knew what was going on.
Certainly could have done more, but the piling on is getting insane.

The man has known for years that Sandusky was accused of sexually abusing kids, and you say "It has a little dirt"
Come on!
What would you do if someone you trusted came to you and said your best friend was sexually abusing kids?
Would you allow him to be around your kids?
Friends kids?
Or would you just let it go and hope it doesnt happen again?

This is stupid. Joepa SHOULD HAVE BANNED that human waste that very instant FOREVER> Not give him his very own little boys camp to privately rape kids on the PSU campus. Unbelievable.
Two things:
Why do you assume that Paterno trusted the GA?
Why is Paterno at fault for reporting to the AD who then reported it to Shultz (who oversaw the Penn State Police Department)?
The AD and Shultz are the ones who lied about this and never moved forward, respectively.

His career is not the least tarnished in my eyes. He was a great coach and a great man. He made the mistake of not following up with the AD.
I believe the mom was more upset at the ga than Paterno. He is the witness.
