So the mother of a son who had been molested and raped by an adult just... dropped it, kept quiet? Don't see that happening. Ever.
And that is why a lot of this doesn't add up to me. 12 years of SOME people knowing SOME stuff and then all of the sudden it blows UP on a random Monday.
Lotta weird, shocking stuff. For certain.
She was told to keep quiet, then the DA, who later disappeared, said there was not enough evidence. None of the victims knew about each other. And people did know stuff, they just kept their ****ing mouths shut.
I posted this article in the thread earlier today, but have a look at this article from April. So seven months ago.
If this was in the frigging newspaper, a lot of people at PSU had their heads stuck completely in the sand about this.

If you keep your mouth shut after your child is raped and you know, what is it that makes one stay quiet?

"Don't kid yourself. That could happen. Don't underestimate the power of Paterno and Penn State in central Pennsylvania when it comes to politicians, the police and the media."
That's a scary, scary thought.
I doubt she just said, "oh well, this guy raped my kid, but he's a defensive coordinator, so screw it." If she did that, she's worthless. I mean, it's possible, but I doubt it.

I am not in her shoes, I can't answer for any of them. But I highly doubt they were just like, 'well, nothing is gonna happen, oh well'. My guess is maybe she was paid off or threatened.
