Per ESPN Auburn Has Hired Freeze

SEC West has some seriously good coaches for next year:

Despite this year, Jimbo is very good. Kiffy is ok, the Pirate is kewl, Kelly wins everywhere, saban may still be around, Freeze is good.

Really, Sam Pittman is the only lightweight and he still wins a few.

The east has Kirby, Hype, and five duds. Good for us! We just have to win one big game next fall.
Two, unless the 3rd Saturday in October has been cancelled.

Hugh might be in a good spot if Nick Saban retires following Alabama's bowl game or at the end of the 2023 season.
The idea that Saban loses 2 games one season and suddenly he's done is absurd.

NIL has loosened his grip on recruiting and the locker room but he's adjusted before and I won't believe he's done until he's "laid in his tomb, and even then you'd better shut it tight."

How does he or his staff answer questions from parents about him being grounded from social media?:p This is a Bad Look. They hired a millionaire and took away his phone.

"We can trust you with our child's welfare, but the university can't trust you with your personal social media?"

Did Auburn also take away his Playstation and Nintendo Switch as well?

I am sure he still has his OnlyFans account, Mr. Freeze.

Guy getting paid $6.5 million isn't allowed to tweet.

Amazing.
When you really think about that, it is mind-blowing how petty and ridiculous Freeze is.

Freeze was the mid-40s coach of an SEC football program, which presumably is stressful and time-consuming. He also makes several million dollars a year. Despite all that, he consistently made the time to not only search his name on Twitter to see what random people said about him, but also fire off DMs and tweet back responses to those people. It's just mind-blowing to me how a guy in his position was actually concerned about the opinions of random people on the internet, many of whom were just trolling anyway.

That’s not what happened.

Did McCaw and Starr throw Briles under the bus to save their own skin?

Yes.

Does Art Briles ever deserve a chance to coach football again? No. What he did was just as bad as Joe Paterno. He doesn’t deserve a chance. Ever.
I’m positive that there has been reporting from depositions, as well as his separation agreement that states there was no wrongdoing on his part being alleged by anyone. Baylor just culled the whole bunch.

Depends on what you mean by wrong doing. Legally? He probably skates (like Joe Pa). In terms of basic human decency? He’s a trash human being who fostered a culture of sexual violence with A) Bringing in and not punishing people that were convicted or charged with sexual misdeeds and B) Routinely showed a callousness and lack of empathy for the victims

All I know is that I tried to research this once I got your response, and virtually every media outlet has stories where the NCAA officially cleared him of any wrongdoing. None of the things you listed were proven in their findings.

The NCAA cleared him of any wrongdoing based on their by laws, hence he didn’t give break any rules administered by the NCAA.

The NCAA did mention this:
"His incurious attitude toward potential criminal conduct by his student-athletes was deeply troubling to the panel," the infractions report says.

The panel said that Briles "failed to meet even the most basic expectations of how a person should react to the kind of conduct at issue in this case."

"As a campus leader, the head coach is held to an even higher standard. He completely failed to meet this standard," the report says.

Now let me say this. This was a Baylor issue from the top down. The fact Ian McCaw is an AD at any university, let alone one as high profile as Liberty is disgusting. The entire campus was found to have terrible behavior towards sexual violence.

That does not however mean Art Briles should be a college football coach.

Baylor reached a settlement with victims of the sexual assault scandal.
I am sure a couple of you will say this does not mean anything happened or the coaches and admin weren't wrong, but realists know you don't throw millions at liars.

McCaw is extremely lucky he didn't have to pay personally. Baylor's own internal investigation found Briles, McCaw and another administrator were informed of sexual assaults by players, but conspired to not inform the university's judicial affairs department, as required by University Code of Conduct. Then McCaw got a plum AD job at the Heavenly Liberty U because of his administrative mastery and "Jesus-like" character .

If Freeze beats his ass on the field, no one will be talking about how Lane owned him on Twitter. But at least Lane will always have that.
Still extremely funny.
If Freeze has any gas left in the tank, he should own OM by season 3.
Oxford is a little brother in the SEC West.

Unless something wrecks Freeze's tenure on the Plains. He has a history of bad choices. I really hope Aub suffers our fate and struggles for a long time.
