Damn. It sounds like it's gonna be tough to beat Maryland in this one. It's funny that he grew up rooting for the Canes says he still pulls for the Canes and now all of a sudden he's a Terp at heart. I mean, damn dude make up your mind.

Or come to Knoxville and have a 3rd team to root for for the rest of your life.

Definately doesn't look good. I think the loss of Dan Brooks set us back as well. I know that White was very high on him.

When comparing UM to UT, White said "we did more on the Maryland visit, like they took us more places. But I enjoyed both, really."

He said UT has "more stuff" in terms of facilities than UM but said "I think I had a lot more interaction with the Maryland coaches, though."

Of the Terps and his interest in them, he said:

"Just how they have always been there, they have been there forever. It is right down the road so I can see my family whenever I want. Distance won't be a factor as far as when they can see me play.
"My mom, she's my mom so of course she wants me to be close. My dad, it doesn't bother him as long as I get an education."


Of his sister, a junior at Maryland, he said: "She likes it a lot."

White said he doesn't have a leader yet, while he added: "I know everything about Maryland....well, not everything, but I know more about Maryland than I do the other schools."

Well, I would agree we're screwed, but the fact he wants to stay close to home is understandable. The problem is, eventually these big, tough guys are going to have to get off their mothers teet and move on in life. Does he think that if he plays well and makes it to the NFL, he will get drafted by a team close to home? I doubt it. He might as well suck it up now and get used to it.

Time to move on. Sounds like White is headed to Maryland. At this point I would actually be shocked if we got him.

Well...once Scott left it looked bleak anyway. So I consider the staff getting back in with him a good job.

He was going to be our best OL in this class without doubt...I like Phillips but P. White is much more developed...could probably jumped right in and contributed a little bit this year.

according to a credible source his parents are pushing Maryland and we wont be able to pull him
