Peterman out Broken Thumb (rumor)

With Peterman out for the season and the possibility of another freshman seeing some action and possibly getting in front of him moving forward, there's a chance he may decide to transfer and never see the field as a Vol again. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Is he out for the yr with just a broken thumb?

You cant point out the obvious, you'll be called a negavol and asked to turn in your VFL card and be told to get out..

Not hating the kid. Hope he heals & gets a great education & is successful in life. He's just not a good college qb. If he is he blew his chance.

Wouldn't surprise me it was broke on our sideline by one of our own players /coaches.. Like myself they were sick of watching him play too...:birgits_giggle:

I hope this is a terrible attempt at humor.

Explains the interception? I'm sorry but that guy was a deer in headlights he couldn't have told you his name let alone execute what he was asked to do....:eek:hmy:

Seriously? We must not have been watching the same play. That was not a "deer in the headlights" interception.

I hate that for him. Best think for him would have been to get some meaningful reps this week.

Deer in the headlights would've been excusable. That pass he attempted was awful & that's being nice

You're an idiot. If you listened to the post game, you would know that Nate didn't complain of any pain or stiffness until halftime. It is called adrenaline.

Thumb or not it was evident waaaaaaaaay early he isn't good & far from the answer. He should've never seen the field.

Why is that? I gained respect for the kid. He was fighting through pain and wanted to stay in and fight through it. Dont know many Coach's or Fans that wants a QB that doesn't want to stay in the game.

Fighting through pain is one thing. Being unable to play your position is quite another. For the sake of the TEAM, you take yourself out. It takes maturity to do this - or - as Clint Eastwood used to say, "Every man's gotta know his own limits".

If he is out long enough for a freshman to impress and get ahead of him, he could decide to transfer. If he is playing behind Dobbs or Ferguson, he may figure that he is done here. Peterman may turn out to be the qb of the future, but he probably wouldn't want to play behind a player junior to him. Just saying......

You lost respect for a kid trying to play through pain?

Ridiculous. You don't stay in the game with a possible broken thumb (on your throwing hand as a QB). It is team game. Never unnecessarily compromise the team's ability to win a game for your own personal glory/satisfaction/pleasure. Hollywood BS has seriously effected some of y'alls rationale.

Were you at practice everyday last week? How many redshirt freshman have made a successful first start in the Swamp? He certainly had some self inflicted mistakes, but please quit acting like you know better than the coaching staff.

You try awfully hard to be an expert on everything you talk about. And I've yet to see an expert opinion on anything.

Some of the comments on here are downright embarrassing.
It is easy to see who has children or grandchildren from the insensitive, insulting, senseless remarks.

Of course, I could be wrong. Some may simply be that stupid.

I am ashamed of some people who claim to be fans of the Vols, yet make remarks which any reasonable person would not make about these young kids.

I can only imagine family members reading some of these remarks by supposed fans of their Vol players whom they have entrusted to UT to help nurture and develop into better young men.

Have you ever been in the heat of battle (athletics) and felt just pure adrenaline? He probably had no idea he couldn't grip the ball.

Peterman just learned what SEC football is. He needs to stick with what he knows, and that's viewing from the sidelines.

You don't imagine a 20 year old kid starting his first game in the swamp would have had pain masked or judgement clouded by an adrenaline rush? ..... Talk about Hollywood BS.

It doesn't take an expert to see how bad Peterman was & is. I'm sorry you know nothing about anything.
