To be honest I hope that Peterman makes Florida pay with his legs. Butch said he has always been the first one in the building at practice, he apparently has showed a lot of maturity. We needed someone to step up like this a long time ago

I'm happy for Nate. He might do great, or he might bomb. But he's worked hard enough to earn his chance. Not many guys that can say that. I can't wait!!

Or he understands that Vol fans have a bad case of backup syndrome. Sometimes there is just nothing better behind the starters. Peterman hasn't shown much to be impressed by but we will definitely find out for sure today.

I'm not feeling confident in this move. You don't really want a kid's first start to be at florida. We'll soon see if he can do anything.

Hate to agree, but this is most likely the case. In other words, Butch doesn't think we have much chance to pull out the upset.

only one post...member for around 3 years....... you are very suspicious

i agree not wanting to start a freshman in the swamp. but switching starting QBs 3 times is kind of ridiculous especially because if they dont think "their guy" can get it done in the swamp because hes a true freshman but they'll start him later why even change to Peterman? that's too much wishywashy for the young WRs.

This is near-sighted and indicates poster thinks peterman is some kind of wuss... We probably lose today, win next week, then lose to UGA... But it will give Nate peterman a lot of experience leading up to South Carolina and November which is where we earn our bowl berth.

He's our best quarterback, he's played 4 quarters this year and if he plays like a champion we hope he is, it doesn't matter when/where he starts.

Let's go vols!

To say I'm torn today would be an understatement. Even though I hope the Gators win, I do want Nathan to impress the coaches so he wins the starting job. I want to go to Neyland some day and watch him play.

Win or lose, I hope Vol Nation gives him a chance, no matter what the outcome today.

Hope it's a injury free, competitive game today.
