Petrino to Arkansas

Do not blame him one bit. The Falcons are in a flat tailspin. He's getting out before the ship bottoms out. Good luck Bobby. Wished you could stay but I'd do no different.

Once again, another SEC team improves themselves at the coaching position and we are still stuck with Phil. Before it's over, we may be dead last in the SEC before anyone has the gumption to fire his stubborn, conservative, stuck in the 80's, noncoaching %$*. Why do we feel we owe our lives to Fulmer?????

This post looks pretty silly since we just played in Atlanta.

This sucks for Arthur Blank. Last night he was on MNF rhapsodizing about Petrino, and tonight he's looking for a new coach. What a trainwreck for the Falcons.

Have fun shaking hands in the Shoney's in Fayetteville, jackass.

10/11/2008: Arkansas at Auburn

Can you imagine the story lines leading up to that game.

Would you have assured your owner repeatedly that you were staying beforehand?

And the ship has already bottomed out -- in large part because Petrino lost the veterans early in the season. He lost the team, and now he's quitting rather than help fix a mess for which he's partially responsible.

Considering we have no clue what the inside info was, it would be hard to say that was fact. I can't blame him either way. After the whole D'Hall debacle, he was left out to dry for that. He got NO backup from upstairs on that. He received flack constantly and saw no backup.

Atlanta local news is reporting Atlanta Falcons HC Bobby Petrino will be resigning to take the HC position at Arkansas

Uh oh Phil - another very good coach in this league. No more "Nutt" at Ark means another coach that will "have his way" w/ our Phil (Meyer, Saban & now Petrino).

Man what a huge catch for Arkansas and the SEC, this guy is one of the top 5-6 coaches in college football, look at Louisville and what happened the first year he wasn't there.

I cant see Chavis coming up w/ a game plan that will slow down a Petrino offense. They put up BIG #'s.. Hope Ark falls off the schedule soon.

Give him 2-3 years tops and Ark will be top 10 annually something Phil "used to be" back in the 90's. Long time ago..

There's nothing to be scared of. 41-9 at Louisville does not equal 41-9 at Arkansas. Not even close.

Coaching at Louisville will be much different than coaching in the SEC. And look at the schedule. And Lord knows he has done such a great job while in the ATL.

Not so fast my friend. The current status of the team has every bit of blame to fall on Blank, McKay, and Mora. This was horrible management. Those three enabled Vick and allowed him to continue going down. They all put Vick as the sole person this team was about. Forget the fact it takes a team. They made this team ALL about Vick. This team psychologically is screwed up in the head. It was that way before Petrino set foot in Flowery Branch. Look at what has transpired all season. Everyone knew going in and especially after Vick's issue was this was all about rebuilding. Instead we see this stupid @ss clown show on MNF with t-shirts and statements about Vick.

This monster was the creation of McKay, Blank, and the high quality skills of Junior. If anything, I feel sorry for Petrino being sold a bill of goods on how much better the situation was when it was pathetic to begin with.

Well, at least Tedford and Ferentz have some competition for most overrated coach in college football now. This will be a miserable failure.

I am not a "homer" or "basher" either way, but also I am not crying "the sky is falling" because Arkansas got a Coach. It only makes us better, and hopefully will make CPF better, if not, he will be shown the door...eventually, maybe.
