Petrino to Arkansas

Maybe he will bring over Brohm from Louisville to run the offense, provided Brohm has another 5-star high school qb for a little brother.

Uh oh Phil - another very good coach in this league. No more "Nutt" at Ark means another coach that will "have his way" w/ our Phil (Meyer, Saban & now Petrino).

Man what a huge catch for Arkansas and the SEC, this guy is one of the top 5-6 coaches in college football, look at Louisville and what happened the first year he wasn't there.

I cant see Chavis coming up w/ a game plan that will slow down a Petrino offense. They put up BIG #'s.. Hope Ark falls off the schedule soon.

Give him 2-3 years tops and Ark will be top 10 annually something Phil "used to be" back in the 90's. Long time ago..
In 2-3 years he will be gone somewhere else. You think he is going to stay in Fayetteville long, no chance. My question is why not Michigan?

Petrino walked into a terrible situation, certainly. But he certainly didn't do anything to improve it, and by alienating the teams' veterans he helped send the season into a tailspin.

From a coaching standpoint, I don't much care; I didn't see anything from Petrino to indicate that he's much of a coach. His playcalling was pedestrian at best and sometimes awful; he made weird personnel decisions. I just think it sucks that the coach who so famously demanded "total commitment" from his players and everybody else has abruptly bailed on his owner and his team without even finishing out the year.

Justin, I'm with you, but would you take 3 mil, at Arky, or 2 at Michigan? If you already had that kind of coin in the bank from your 2 previous gigs.

I'd take the extra million and run. Felix Jones might be back next season.

Hart, Long, Henne and possibly Manningham are done at Michigan.

That's somewhat of a shocker! Wonder if his dog lost a fight or something.

At least he didn't stay with the Falcons long enough to destroy the franchise like Saban did in Miami. At this stage, mediocrity would be a welcome improvement to most Fins fans.

Jimmy Sexton used to have Petrino. Don't know if he still represents him. If so, let's see...Fulmer, Nutt, Spurrier, Tubby, Saban and Petrino with same guy in same conference.

But with that recruiting base, and really, which conference would you rather be in right now? I mean just getting out of the west is going to be murder, with that crazy out of touch fan base, in a year he is going to think he is back in ATL. In the big 10, you have one game.

He got off a sinking ship and I don't really blame him.

The Falcons are already destroyed.

That extra million in Fayetteville will buy a lot more.
There is no doubt in my mind where I would have went. He can hit up Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Mississippi. Hire Coach Freeze from Orgeron's old staff and recruiting just got easier.

And he might have some confidence in his abilities.

All day in Arkansas the talk was Muschamp
Then about an hour ago it got hot and heavy on Petrino

I'll believe it when, he's in Fayetteville

even then he could pull a Dana Altman

I don't think he'll do much at Arkansas though.

He'll lose to Ole Miss and all hell will break loss
