Petrino to Arkansas

Every SEC fan base is a bit nuts, but I'm telling you the Arky fan base is delusional.

Im listening to the Arkansas sports talk show, they're already saying should win the National Championship with 5 yrs.

What are they saying now? Should it be 1 in the first 5 years and then 1 every other year thereafter or something more?

I'm telling you this is going to be Saban all over again, talking about being at the airport in the morning.

With the Walton family money behind Arkansas, they can pay Petrino $4 mil plus, easy.

If you really think Petrino won't succeeed at Arkansas then you're not familar w/ him, he may not win NC in first couple years (don't rule out though) but the guy will be something to reckon with from the get-go. Coaching in the pros and coaching in the colleges is like two different entire sports so you can't judge what he did at Atlanta.

He'll have Ark up there w/ the big boys consistantly instead of every now and then like Nutt. Ark may have just gotten the best coach in the conference, (key note may have) not calling him the best yet, jury is out. The guy's "offense" is like that of S.S.'s was back in the 90's. The SEC West is LOADED w/ top notch coaches (Saban, Tuberville, Petrino & LSU) - I think LSU isn't coached bad but not on those three's level. SEC East isn't shabby either but I'd take the West's over East. Meyer, Spurrier, Richt & Fulmer

The SEC definitely has the best coaches in college football. The parity will continue to be in-sane.

Hopefully Phil and "Rut" will watch alot of film on Petrino's offense and play calling and see the points this man generates, he rarely throws two yard hitches on 3rd and 8 - "Rut"'s favorite route on 3rd and long is something that is short of the sticks. Several NFL coaches have said Petrino is one of the best play-callers at any level. Now this was said when he was back in Jacksonville coaching w/ Coughlin and corrdinating their offense.

I tell you it will be interesting to see how Petrino fares in the SEC. But I bet he ends up with an explosive offense that will put the points up. If he gets a strong DC watch out. He was on my list wish for HC at UT eventually. But Being Divisional Champs twice in a decade is nice. I think weve been TN state champs a few years except for the Jay Cutler experience.

KARN radio guys have been talking mostly about precision passing since they don't think their QB can throw it downfield.

He'll be better than Nutt...and you are correct on the parity point. The toughest league in CFB, just got tougher.

He sure wasn't anything special this year. The Falcons' offensive players aren't very good, obviously, but I expected a guy who's supposed to be an offensive genius to figure out ways to put them in good spots so they can make plays. He didn't do that at all.

That label is way over used for a lot of these "up and comers" and it will be interesting to see just how many of them flop.
