I think it's more than just those two now. I think quite a few names have come up here. Looks like there is an issue now between Jones and Blank as well.

As for Blank's reputation, you need to do a little more homework and do some insider searching as well. He's not the squeaky clean fair and honest guy you claim.

And if you keep saying no one will know the full situation but yet pass final judgment based on not knowing the full situation, I am quite glad I do not know you. Nice to pass judgment on people not knowing the facts. Good character trait.

CSpin, will you at least acknowledge that Petrino handled his departure poorly? There was obviously some lying going on and the way he told his assistant coaches and players was just bush league.

I've never said this was the best way to depart. But really we don't know the full story about this and more than likely never will. If anything his departure and the reaction as a collective in the team and management are both lacking full class. But no one seems to be acknowledging the team's Oscar performance. You'd think that great and fair man Arthur Blank would just lock his team down and get them back to being focused on actually winning a game for a change. Instead, he's completely turned a 180 on no discussion on the Vick issue to no holds barred with Petrino. One minute it's keep the dirty laundry in the family and the next minute it is let it all out and let the team look like temper tantrum 5 year olds crying about having their favorite toy taken from them. So at the end of the day, who truly is better in this? Who is keeping this issue going? Who is still out there talking about this? Who is letting the team be dragged down even more publicly?Who is embarrassing the city further by making sure we're front page on websites and newspapers with stupid comments and scribbling on letters? Seeing your ownership let the kids go wild - I wonder who the **** would even want to come here. With the players acting like this and the ownership letting them...maybe if they were on the practice field instead of before cameras and microphones, they would be doing what they are paid to do.

I think all Falcons fans understand that the organization sucks. But it's hard to see how that even partially excuses the most disgraceful coaching exit in recent years (which is saying something). If you're "embarrassed" by the players' comments about him, then you embarrass too easily. I've been hearing from friends around the country who love the shots that our players are taking at their garbage ex-coach.

In fact, if you detest the organization and players so thoroughly, you should probably just go jump on the Patriots or Cowboys bandwagon like everybody else whose team sucks. If you don't have a problem with Petrino, then Jerry Jones or Bill Belichick are probably your kind of guys.

Not to mention that his own brother was one of those coaches completely blindsided when Petrino fled town. Paul Petrino was put in a hell of an awkward position.

You're not embarrassed over the team looking like 5 year old girls fighting about a Barbie? You're not embarrassed that they're spending their time whining about a coach rather than how pathetic they play? Wow. You really have high standards. Why should I jump on the bandwagon? You are more the bandwagon type here piling on Petrino, a guy no longer here, rather than calling out the actual players still here who perform poorly. If you have no problem with the current attitude then you deserve the losers we have now. Sorry if I expect more out of guys getting paid to actually perform to higher standards on the field. You seem to like whiners and losers. Good luck continuing to defend such behavior.

The Falcons have their share of malcontents, most of whom I would like to see purged. The promiscuity of the Mora Era continues to poison the team. But it's not just those guys who have been calling out Petrino. Warrick Dunn, universally hailed as an outstanding guy, called Petrino "no class." Joey Harrington -- by all accounts the nicest guy in the world, even if he can't play QB in the NFL -- called Petrino "cowardly" and said "that's not what a man does." Are these the guys whom you're calling out as losers with a bad attitude? Because anybody who would impugn a man like Warrick Dunn for calling out a loser like Bobby Petrino obviously has no idea what the word "honor" means.

Again, if you think it's classy to go on TV and talk trash about someone else, then so be it. I just think it's ironic that the standard you apply to Petrino is not applied to these players. Frankly I don't care what some of these guys have done in the past. If it is "honor" to go on TV and throw insults back out at someone, then you have found your true idols. Honor is keeping this in the family. Honor is being a leader and moving on. Honor is saying no matter what someone else does you're going to go out there and prove yourself on the field. Why is the same standard that was applied to Vick not applied here? Why did Blank and MacKay previously lock out the media on the Vick matter but let the cameras roll away in this case? Again, classy is just limiting this to "Hey the guy did us wrong but there's nothing we can do about that now. All we can do is move on and do what needs to be done to win."

Again, if acting like this is honorable then you have a low standard of character. There is no impugning to it. Anyone, no matter what they've done before, that condones this behavior or participates in it is as low as you claim Petrino is. Honorable would be showing some leadership and class and saying this event won't stop them from doing what needs to be done. If anything, tragedy and crisis shows you the true character of people. Trash Petrino all you want but he's not here. We're left with the team as it is now. Is this is how you'd handle a personal crisis in your family? Would you broadcast everything and call someone names before the world? Would you drag your family through the mud even further? Would you stoop to the level of elementary school behavior? This is honor to you? It's obviously the way Blank likes to operate. Every coach or candidate sees this and is taking notes. They ask themselves do they really want to step into that. And yes, they see even those who were the so-called leaders of the team stooping to this level. If this is not a sign of how pathetic this team has become, nothing is. Good job Blank. Good job MacKay. Do the city a favor and sell back to the Smith family. They handled the team better than you.

I have no problem with the Falcon players calling Petrino what he is. He's not a member of their "family." He's a liar, a snake, and a charlatain. The impending and inevitable destruction of his career in Fayetteville is going to be fun to watch.

I thought it was an awful hire when it was announced, but I tried to convince myself that it had a chance of working, because -- well, sometimes that's what you have to do when you're a fan of an awful team. Otherwise nothing lies down that road but despair. Unfortunately my suspension of disbelief couldn't make it past the Nashville game, when Petrino's awful playcalling lost a game that the Titans desperately tried to give away.

There's no question that the Falcons are ultimately better off with Petrino working the buffet circuit in Fayetteville. But that doesn't preclude everyone who cares about the team from being contemptuous of the cowardly way that Petrino slunk out.

I think this was the smart thing he could have done. The dumbest thing he ever did was taking the Falcons HCing job.

I think the Hogs made a very good hire. He is losing a ton of players so it will take a year or 2 but he will do well there. I wonder how many of the $aban Sycophants on this site will hold BP to a higher standard than they have Nicky.

Saban will be winning SEC titles long after the people of Faytettenam have rid themselves of the disease that is Bobby Petrino.
