The 96 Florida game Peyton threw 4 INT's in the first half!! Thats one reason Florida scored over 30. Peyton was passing the whole second half of that game, Hence the passing record.

Second half of the Super Bowl...I do remember an INT he threw, that was ran back for a TD.

Bottom line.....Peyton=great stats.....he wins a lot, but not when it counts.

ummmmm no just plain out revisionist history for ya and not taking into account the situation. Are you counting the INT where the dlineman had it land on his belly after being pancake blocked? What about the one that bounced off his receivers facemask to a defender? Or the ones that went through their hands, perfectly thrown ball that went out the back to the defender? Yeah, thought so. He can't thow the ball and catch it too, oh yeah he did for positive yardage once, but usually you can't do that LOL.

People like you will never, ever, ever admit that Peyton is one of the greatest of all time. Why? Because every time he proves you wrong you move the goal. Win big games in college? Check, he broke the Alabama streak, something that was just HUGE, and that was the biggest game of the year that year, much bigger than the Florida game. That's where all the pressure was, 8 in a row they said. He played lights out. It was the biggest game of the year, until he won it then it wasn't considered a big game.

Then he beat "the greatest team of all time" in Ohio state, where everyone said he couldn't do it. It was considered a huge game before he won it, afterwards, well it isn't a big game.

Same thing in the NFL, first it was win a big one, he did, then it was win in the playoffs, he did, then it was beat the pats when he had an inferior team, he did then it was "just one superbowl" then he did and now it's "multiple superbowls."

When he wins the second one you will be back on here saying "yeah but he isn't great or he would have 3" then if he gets the third you will move it to 4. He can't win with his detractors and he never will no matter what he does.

That was a quick slant, a timing route. The WR's #1 job on that route, above ALL else, is to get inside the DB AT ALL COST in order to prevent exactly what happened from happening. Wayne made no attempt to do that.

You see interceptions and assume it's always the QB making a horrible throw directly into the arms of the defender. Football isn't black and white. It's mostly gray.

Actually, Steve Young only won one Super Bowl not multiple. And yes Peyton is the greatest UT QB. He didn't beat Florida in his three tries for multiple reasons, but I wouldn't say that he played poorly. They lost the 95 game because no one could hold onto the football, Peyton actually played great in that game and didn't throw any picks. In 96, he did throw 4 first half picks, but two of them were tipped and just bounced right to Florida. He also through almost 500 yards in that game and 4 touchdowns. Remember our offensive line was not very good that year, they had to replace 4 starters from 95 and one starter got injured in that game. Also Florida went for it on 4th and 10 the first drive of the game and scored a touchdown. We threw the rest of the game, because we were always behind and had no running game, we were actually in negative yardage as a total. In 97, we still did not have a running game at that time. Jamal Lewis was a freshman and didn't start until after that game. So once again, we were one dimensional, with a "pretty good defense." These may sound like excuses, but Bob Stoops was Florida's Defensive Coordinator during that time and they were very good. Our denfense didn't start to become great until 98. Then they started a really good run on defense.

ok troll. obviously you arent acknowleding the point that i was making. most qbs can be stopped 1 time in the 2nd half and not lose. sadly for peyton he has been stuck on a horrendous team his entire career where he has felt like he has to put up 30 points a game to win. and yeah eli is better because the giants put up a solid 17 points and that was enough for his team and then 21 points. when the colts put up 29 and 17. little bit easier to play when your team runs the ball well and you dont feel like you have to score every possession.

He is the greatest QB in UT history, and could be the greatest NFL QB ever when it is all said & done. I just wanted to get some opinions from Volnation about Peyton & the big games. Skip Bayless calles him the best regular season QB ever. Why do you guys think he has only won 1 ring, and never got the NC in college? I was a young kid during those days & watched UT football, but wasnt really into it like I am now mainly because of age. Sadly most of the years that I have been going to Neyland Stadium it hasnt been pretty. I have never seen us beat UGA, UF, or Bama in person. Better days are coming though, and I will be there until they do! Anyways back to the subject..Was it more about the team we had instead of him coming up short? The year after he left we won the NC. That just seems crazy to me. I have watched him dominate in the NFL. He makes it look so easy. Its really amazing. When I watch him play I just cant believe that he hasnt won about 5 rings yet. Also my brother that is on volnation and is a Vols fan says he would take Eli right now over Peyton. I have done everything I can to prove my point, but cant get it across. I applaud Eli for everything he has done, but for one game I am taking Peyton all day! Just look at the stats. Anyone else agree with me?
Bayless is a Vandy grad so therein is your answer.
