Too many angles and interpretations...inconclusive...it's easy to argue either way...on with football :pilot:

That was the only angle that I needed to see to interpret that it was in fact a backwards pass. It was called a forward pass on the field so IMO they shouldn't overturn it, but it is what it is, and that's a lateral

Eventually the NFL will go to 17 or 18 game schedule and all these records will fall anyway.

Passing yards might but 55 TDs will stand for awhile even with 18 games. Eclipsing 40 has only been accomplished 10 times and 6 of those were by 3 QBs (Manning, Brees, and Marino).

Has anyone asked Wade Phillips?...Sure he has an opinion :)

Well said and funny. Didn't see the smart arse comments Phillips made after Peyton throttled his pathetically coached team a couple weeks back coming. Always figured him to be as classy as his dad.... guess not.

I missed Phillips comments - what did he say?

An unintended tie-in...Wade was the coach of the Buffalo Bills when they lost to the Titans via the Music City Miracle...the lateral/forward pass conundrum hasn't been kind to the man.

Even if they don't, the record probably won't stand long. As the NFL continues to alter its rules to favor the offense, and teams take advantage by passing more and more, these passing records just don't quite have the significance they once did.

Geeez Louise. First the NCAA takes back his Heisman and now the NFL is trying to "one up" the NCAA by taking back his records? What's next? Peyton's kids gonna be repossessed by Obama?

I think the call on the field was wrong but, as others have said, I'm glad they let the record stand. They took him out under the assumption he had beat the record.

Wade won't be employed by the Texans next time Peyton plays them
True, but Peyton will still use it as motivation the next time he plays them. If you know anything about Peyton, he likes to make teams pay :eek:k:
