As usual, the winner during their playoff matches had home field advantage. Manning doesn't own Brady, and Brady does not own Manning. They are two great competitors on two great teams. I am proud of Peyton, and happy he can be the first QB to win a Super Bowl for two different teams. But keep it real.
I've been on Peyton's side in this whole Brady vs. Manning debate - but I can certainly appreciate and recognize Brady is an outstanding QB. Yes, he has probably the best coach in the NFL and has been blessed with great defenses. However, you do not have the success they've had without Brady. Come on man, he is one of the all time greats. Would Peyton had his success had he played for the Pats, sure. But that doesn't take away what Brady is/has been doing for a long time. He's a fierce competitor with a great arm and a knack for savvy comebacks. To say he isn't much without Belechick is ridiculous IMHO.Brady is a great QB no doubt but that game just proved:
Brady without Belichick = not much IMO (together they have been pretty awesome)
Brady without awesome team around him = not much
Peyton does pretty much his own coaching at the Oline (when Talib went out, he pretty much instantly started picking apart that weakness)
Peyton on a team with a solid defense = probably 3-4 SB rings
If the Colts had ever had a defensive game to match the level of their receivers, Peyton would likely already have a record number of SB trips.

They are both great QB's - but I'll take Peyton because I just love the guy. Football aside, he's a fantastic individual and is hilarious. Oh yeah, he's a former VOL too.
Yep - that's been debated endlessly on here. But, does that mean Brady is not a great QB?Patriots w/out Tom Brady in 2008 - 11-5
Colts w/out Peyton Manning in 2011- 2-14....
When he was 1-2 vs Brady in the playoffs it got mentioned plenty. Now they are tied at 2-2 with Manning taking the edge in the CG.

He's the 3rd QB to reach the SB with two teams. Kurt Warner with Rams and Cardinals (won one, lost one) and Craig Morton who played for Broncos and Cowboys (lost both).
Pot is re-stirred.
Not at all. Peyton is the GOAT and playing for SB while gator heisman winning qb's (who played against him as well as the more recent one) are retired against their will because not good enough for NFL. They will be in the somewhere in the booth as commentators talking about Peyton during SB (if they are lucky to get that assignment).
*lewsingActually, Kurt Warner has been in three Super Bowls, winning one, loosing one with the Rams, and the one with the Cardinals.
On topic, even if this is Peyton's last season, depending on how the March physical exam goes, at least he will be going out on a somewhat high note. Being in his third Super Bowl, hopefully getting his second win, and a great improvement on his overall playing record and stats.
Even if he doesn't get a coaching job, I wonder what the odds are that the Broncos or even the Colts might offer him some office Vice President or assistant GM job or something, sort of like John Elway's current VP job with the Broncos.
