When u watch her, does she jump off your screen like sheā€™s dominating the game or some imposing pretense? Sheā€™s 6ā€™6 and will get blocks, but she canā€™t jump 2 inches off the ground and actually plays small for her size.

She is from Maryville and looks GOOD and has 3 years to play as well as a rising sophomore post player like maybe Oldacre if she transfers w/ Miamiā€™s recruiting violations and the penalty being a post season appearance opportunity we may see people leave there

Actually Powell didn't turn it over any minute. A/t.o ratio 2.0, which is tied for second in the SEC. JP was 10th in the SEC in total assists, in far less mins than anyone else in the top ten except Raven Johnson.

I'm not sure why Powell is so misunderestimated, probably has to do with the senseless drives into the tall timber and lackluster 3 pt shooting. We were already pretty sensitive to those things. But give her credit where it's due.

I'm glad she's back and she and Wells will make a very solid PG team however the mins get distributed.

Powell is a nice player she just didnā€™t break into enough minutes to have meaningful production. Kellie liked Walkers hustle and rebounding.

I actually thought Powell was a much better ball screen defender than Walker. Walker played hard but her knee was a total liability. Really donā€™t want anymore transfers with knee issues. Itā€™s just something some kids donā€™t recover from.

I saw on Twitter that Gakdeng (BC post) is likely headed to another ACC school - not sure how accurate/in-the-know that person is.

We can most definitely have Wells and Powell start together especially if you think we need to start Tess over either of them. (I believe thatā€™s what you added)

I love her but her size isnā€™t a reason I would start her over either of those players and currently due to skillsets and team makeup, I wouldnā€™t start anyone else at the guard spots because of their shot but if Kaiya brings it thenā€¦.

I'm very encouraged by Destinee's FT shooting -a whopping 86.1% (149 for 173) last year. The highest FT % for a Lady Vol last year (shooting over 30 FT's) was Rikea Jackson at 79.2% (137 for 173), and I felt very comfortable when RK was at the line. So, like RK, Destinee gets to the line a lot, and she knocks them down, which is critical for success. Games are won and lost at the free throw line. And toughness of schedule shouldn't matter on this statistic, as no one is guarding the shot on a free throw. And maybe her excellent FT shooting will rub off on the other players and give them something to strive for.

From the field, I'm excited about the 3 point shooting of Wells and Darby, the mid-range shooting of Jackson, and the inside play of Key. Add to that mix nearly any of the other Lady Vols, and you have a highly-potent offensive starting line-up.

miami womens basketball fined gets probation over recuiment of haley and hanna cavinder usa today 5000 plus 1% of womens budget 1 year probation , lost 9 recuiting person days mudcat take slap on the wrist for booster buying meal for the twins. booster still not ban and twins not punished. should booster boughted hanna and haley a meal might been bad idea but not bad smoke to drive recuits away. saw story when doing vols search when happen looked interesting so me mudcat read it. ncaa did ask miami to ban booster nor did miami ban him on their own. small potatoes compare to unconn from players buying meal and player geting tour of espn. ncaa and miami settle on punishment ncaa did not have fire to go with smoke to do more. fans or bosters should let coaches recuit . just be clear ncaa did not ban booster the one bought meal. @DarkPhoenix

know how speak enlish. but with this firestick i get in hurry sometimes leave words out. i know adding a word or not makes big difference in meaning.

never fail english took it all way from grade school till 12 grade never failed. being honest i could have made better grades in some of my classes . never held back year

as far as posters who went to college. seen where on oan news where college law class students shouted at a guy giving speech in class. say 90 % of class shouted at the guy who was invited to speak. they get in a court room and tell the judge or other side attorneys they do not want hear their point of view . if judge worth anything they give those college kids a wakeup call . And where did this happen stanford law school.

I agree that this is a good pickup for the LVs. I also think we need another dynamic guard and post player. Tess upped her game this year but is still too slow on defense. That was apparent in the VA Tech game as she was getting blown by for easy layups. I think Kellie was smart enough to see it and that's why she sat the 2nd half. Need a quick defender who can stay in front of her assignment and disrupt or draw the charge. It sounds harsh and I'm going to get blasted by the woke police, but she really needs to drop 10+ lbs and work on her quickness and footwork to stay on the court against top competition. I really hope she does and succeeds.
TK was prone to foul trouble her junior year - partly due to her imposing size (unfairly) and partly due to her reaction time. We need one more big 6'4" or taller to really shore up the post. Liked how Strip banged with other bigs, but wasn't tall or quick enough to be a shot blocker - always stood still and kept her arms vertical. This is good defense but can take you out of position for rebounds and compounds the issue when you aren't as quick as the taller player. I still think she's solid, but wouldn't be a starter at USC, LSU, or UCONN.
So I'm hoping for a dynamic shooting guard and another dynamic post to add to the solid team we already have to lead us back to the FF.

Hollingshed is that post. She showed she has the potential on a number of occasions this season. We donā€™t win that LSU game without her. Hope she got the game ball for that one.
