Absolutely, but all this talk about starting Powell just shows Kellie - in spite of this win (which I've said is huge) - still has some massive holes to fill with this roster due to poor recruiting...

Didn’t seem to hurt LSU. They stayed in top with best teams. Look at UConn. Pat could do it because she had best players.

It certainly was a season with a lot of twists and turns. I hate, truly, that it was so disappointing to you. We had a very good season, not a great season. Improvement, as you undoubtedly know, is not a straight line. There were somethings that didn’t go our ways but more went right than went wrong.
Regarding TK I can think of maybe three schools who would not trade for her in a hot minute. She’s not perfect but none of the college players are without things to work on. All of them have room to grow, we have newcomers to bring into the fold, have a couple of good high schoolers bought in big time, the team I filled with really good kids who seem to get along and love the coaches. The vibe of the program is great. Just a few things to feel good about for our team.

Jesse, Jordy, Amber, Marta, Jaz, plus at least one more. Probably one or two who saw limited playing time...(from front row maybe?)

Well you already have the Jaz wrong and I don't know who you are talking about when you say "Amber". Jesse is a senior who has said she wants to go back to Australia to be a police officer and Horston to the WNBA. Our 3 first round draft pick in a row most likely.

You do realize Tamari has started every game following her first game at east Tennessee her freshman year and had never missed a start until the blood clots this year. She was in the final 5 centers a year ago for the Lisa Leslie award and in the final 5 for defensive player of the year as a sophomore. You are not going to find better than her out there next year at that position. Tamari will probably be competing with Cardoso from South Carolina for the lIsa Leslie award next year.

I see Tess hitting the bench and Kellie going with the post duo of Jillian/TK with Rickea at the 3 and starting Powell/Wells at guard. Both Powell and Wells are just as good at the three and honestly are better at creating their own shots, rebounding, defending. If Kellie wants to hang with the big dawgs the only way this doesn’t happen is if we get a player like Donarski and even then… Tess to the bench. Gives us solid bench support and versatility in what Kellie can do. The mix matches we could exploit with that starting 5 is scary. 6’7 TK, Versatile 6’5 Jillian, 6’2 Offensive Ballerina Rickea, AND A DAWG GUARD COMBO in Powell/Wells…. Make some stuff shake Kellie.

With Pissott/Karo/Kaiya/Tess/Sara/BK coming off the bench this team already is coming together very nicely. Maybe 1 or 2 more guards like Denae Fritz from Iowa State if we don’t get Lexi. She is from Maryville and looks GOOD and has 3 years to play as well as a rising sophomore post player like maybe Oldacre if she transfers w/ Miami’s recruiting violations and the penalty being a post season appearance opportunity we may see people leave there

The Belmont coach wished everyone competing in the tournament luck that night that was playing except for the ones trying to recruit their players. The night in question was the 17th and we didn’t play that night, so it wasn’t us. I would be looking at self proclaimed Transfer U or the other school in MS

I totally agree with you when it comes to such guards. What I was pointing out is that with Ms. Wells we have a contingent of 5'8ish type guards, and I believe we need a bigger guard or guard's to match up better with SC and LSU. Case and point, our guards have shown a propensity to turn the ball over against lengthy guards with elite defensive ability. When our guards drive to the basket we have a tendency to go in too deep and turn the ball over, or not make the basket against much bigger post players. If we could hit 3's consistenly from the guard spot like the guards you referenced, it certainly could have made a difference in some of our games early in the season. Also, I believe we give up too much size on the perimeter, because when we're guarding a bigger guard and we have to bring help, it free's up their post or wing offensively. I am not oppose to a dynamic small guard a.k.a., Shannon Bobbit, Kelsey Plum, Destiny Henderson, or Moriah Jefferson, but if i'm honest, I just don't think we have a truly dynamic guard on our roster right now. Can we win with what we have, yes, but a championship or a conference title, I don't know.
