Sorry if this is the wrong forum BTW. Just figured Fulmer news should go in UT Football but I can dig it if not.

I hope this isn't true. I'm a ND fan (in addition to a UT fan and grad) and this would really suck. I want Kelly or Saban to be the next coach at ND.

This would be huge. Well, not really compared to Weis. The AD up there must put a lot of faith in that old saying about "throwing your weight around.' Maybe Mangino can be an assistant.

No way. If he gets hired it'll be 5-7 seasons. There will be more pressure there, than in Knoxville.

FYP. 7-5 seasons would actually be an improvement for them. I can't see them improving under Krispy Kreme.

Look, there is not enough room LITERALLY for Mangino and Fulmer in South Bend... for god's sake there are only two Shoney's there.

Basilio said this morning that he spoke with someone this weekend who said Fulmer is 1a on Notre Dames short list...

basilio add any more to this?

He just said his show would have material for the next 3-4 years if it happened and that Small Mike is already looking up the call-in numbers for every Chicago area sports radio station..

Well, most of the Div. I vacant positions are beginning to fill or involve a list of likely canidates. Despite former Coach Fulmer making everyone aware that he is available, no one seems interested. With a 152-52 overall record, it is somewhat strange that he is getting no interest from anyone. Is he likely to get a job? Indicating that he was interested in the Notre Dame job seemed to be somewhat of a joke.

152-52 overall record. 57-33 since 2002. 95-19 until 2002. That is why he will not have a job.

I wonder what all those idiot analysts who said we were crazy or spoiled for getting rid of Fulmer have to say now.

He may want to interview Cincy when Kelly is announced to be the next ND coach.

He wants a program committed to championships. There's an opening in Richmond that fits the profile.

How ironic and funny would that be? Fulmer puts his career on the line and hires Dave Clawson as his eventual successor at Tennessee, only to fail and end up in Clawson's old office at Richmond.

He's 59 years old, and he had most of his success in his 40s. It's not strange at all that nobody is interested.

There was a lot of “gnashing of teeth” on this board. Outside Vol in IL who still talks favorably, where did the rest go?
