According to Sport Talk on the radio in Chattanooga today it was said by the host that the word on the street is that Jurick would commit to the Vols in the next couple of days. Also, that he will probably not play for East Ridge next year and xfer to one of the prep schools to improve his game and grades.
from a guy on scout.

also from a guy on scout
He is coming for another unofficial visit this week...it is speculated by some that are in a position to know that he will commit on this visit ....only history will record if they are right and we will know soon.

That would be nice. If the Tyler Smith thing works out, then landing a top 2008 recruit. Wow...

Brent Hubbs also reported that he will be in on an unofficial visit and may commit.

I suppose we may be taking Beas Hamga off of the board.

I would rather have Hamga because he seems to fit our system more and his stock is going up, but Jurick is very raw and Pearl could tap into that potential.

can he run?

He can run the floor pretty nicely for his size. He has good feet and balance, but just isn't very polished yet offesively. He's a rebounding machine and a pretty good shot blocker in the paint. He has the potential to be a great post player for us in the future. He's just going to have to work hard offensively and improve his conditioning.

There isn't doubt here. It's two completely different prospects with two completely different games. The staff knows who they want. It just happens to be different from who I want. It looks like they will get their wish though. I think either will do well for us though.

This is all I'm really worried about, we'll have plenty of scorers next season...

You're right, but we'll always have plenty of scorers as long as Bruce is here.

People on the IU board are saying that he will change his mind because of Tyler Smith, which is stupid because they wont even play the same position and Tyler will be a junior when Jurick is a freshman and Tyler might leave early anyways.

If anything, Tyler Smith will make Jurick want to come to UT because T. Smith will make us better. Guys that commit that play different positions actually make players want to commit, not the other way around.

Already been posted in another thread. This article came out last night. He'll be committing to the coaches on his unofficial with his father.

They did mention on SportsTalk that he would probably be moving to one of the Military basketball schools to get his grades up.
