Making our former players team captain for the game may not set well with some of our current players (and coaches).

Your 1st question: slightly irritated, maybe
2nd question: I don't think the article implied that the number of points scored would be impacted by the choice of captains. Maybe you saw it somewhere.

They should be more worried that two guys who couldn't climb out of the bottom of the depth chart at UT... are now starters for them. Maybe they found religion and turned it all around... but if I remember correctly Slaughter struggled to earn PT because he was a couple of steps slow. Now he's going to guard Squirrel and company? I didn't even notice Nichols was gone. The last time he really got much talk was when he was a recruit. Did he ever challenge for anything more that STs or scout team work?

Our players that we didn't dig deep in NIL to keep are captains for Arkansas and one is one of Miami's top D players. That shows you're getting elite when teams are wanting players you're not making priorities. I believe our D Backs are better this year and our D-line and O-line is too.

So, the moral of the story Arky wants to put out there is that IF you transfer from UT to another SEC school, the team will automatically name you a captain when playing the Vols.

The timing is very interesting, but there is a vicious rumor circulating on another message board that Rod Wilks will not only be captain for the Hogs game Sat, but for all the games that the Vols will play from here on out until eternity.

Hooker talked to Jacob Warren the other day about this. Warren said nobody had an issue with players leaving for playing time. He did have an issue with a certain LBer who left for Bama. He wouldn't even say his name.

While I wish both men well, If anything, Tennessee players will be laughing that two former backups are now captains at another school. It may remind our guys that there is no excuse for losing and remind them they are the superior players.
