Pardon me if one has already been started>

How do you think the Steelers will fair this year. I think with the draft pick Limas Sweed added a lot of depth.

I predict that the Steelers will play in the AFC championship game this year.

with a schedule that includes the Colts, Patriots, Giants, Cowboys, Redskins, Browns twice.......well, you get the idea.......it ain't exactly easy. 10-6 against that schedule would be awesome and still might not get them in the playoffs.

tough sledding for the Steelers this year. However..........shore up the O line, added depth in the backfield, depth at WR, and if Ben can repeat last year w/out the sacks and so many int's.........you never know.

defense though is aging......it's going to catch up to 'em sooner or later.......

they can be good.......but not sure we'll know it given the schedule.

Huh? They lost Fanica and drafted no O line. Sounds like Big Ben will be running for his life again.

Jags are going to pound them on Oct. 5 on Sun Night :dance2:

two things.......1. there are many inside the orgianization that actually think losing fanica was additiona by subtraction.....word is, take this for whta it's worth mind you, that the off. staff really had trouble getting him to adjust to the 'new' system......that he would just go out there and do what he's always done, which was at time detrimental to the rest of the line........now, i don't know how much of htat i belive, but......food for thought.
2. the jags have 'oute steelered' the steelers the past two times they've played.

it's not talked about too much, but that's one little series that's turned in to a pretty good little rivalry. i think beating the jags this year would do a lot for the steelers' confidence.....they've been the one team that's really had their number of late.

It really became a good rivalry when they were in the same division. For Jaguar fans, like myself, the Steelers are still a big rival. The Jags have only played 1 other team more in their history, the Titans, only because they are still in the Jags division. The Jaguars organization has modeled their franchise to be the Steelers south, and I think they have done that pretty well.

That game in Oct. will be huge for the Steelers. I think the Jags have beaten them 4 straight included 2 times at Heinz last year. I would say they will be pretty fired up about coming to Jville, or Jacksonburg as some Steeler fans say down here.

1st pre season game last night...limited work for the starters, but moved the ball very well......esp willie parker, he looked good.

defensively, i think we still have a long way to go.....but no hampton or TP last night....so we were soft up the middle on the run game.

impressed with Mendenhall..thought dixon looked ok as did sweed.

Starting Off line looked pretty good, that was a good sign.

oh well........off we go.........

I agree. Hurt us that we lost Batch, but we seemed to have picked up a good replacement in Byron Leftwitch. It will be interesting to see how it turns out. I liked how Roethlisberger looked.

I hope they use more Dennis Dixon this year, that run was awesome. Would be like a g-gun package but call it the DD package.

Big Ben was ON it last night, looks good. Cant wait for the season to start.

Mendenhall showed great abillity and vision on a cutback to the outside but then made a costly fumble. Both teams look bad on O but it was expected from the Vikings w/o Jackson andRice

the oline is a concern.......and so is the aging front on defense.......we'll see how it goes in the regular season.......but i think this team will be good......but the schedule may not allow it to matter.....they could be really good and only go 9-7 and miss the playoffs........

i know this much.......o line has to pass protect better.

I think the Steelers will be fine this year. They did look a lil shaky against the Vikings but I have no worried. I think Big Ben will put up some really good numbers this year for us.

Mendenhall will have lots of TDs but i don't see him being any better than McFadden or any of the other backs taken in the early rounds.

i desperately want to unload Parker right now because he won't score much.

Holmes better have a big year.

skill position players are not the concern. i really think our biggest issue is up front. if our O line doesn't pass protect next season and Ben gets hit like he did last year, it could be a very long season......and this schedule is not conducive to being weak up front.

well I ended my fantasy draft with Ben at qb, Mendenhall my 5th rb and my defense is also Pittsburg.... hell, lets go Steelers!

Steelers looked really REALLY good. Not a lot can be said against a Houston team, but Big Ben was on it tonight..and Parker was a beast. Go Steelers.
