planned parenthood

You want proof that he can't know everything everybody he knows has ever done?

That you will rise to these completely pointless exercises is odd. You do not know who he knows, nor what they have done. Your basis for argument is as suspect as his. Since neither of you is omniscient, neither can prove they are right.

You don't have to prove your position to be correct. You can be right even though the justification for your position is flawed.

Haha wow this is a new one. I’ll try this at work this month.

How did you arrive at these numbers?

Not important, I’m right.

The kids are born into bad, dysfunctional families, often with no fathers. They have problems in life. Many of them end up in foster care or migrate to the street, and then find themselves in prison.

What's the big deal? I've heard plenty on your side of the aisle cite "research" that a fatherless home doesn't increase the chance of negative outcomes for a child, and call white conservatives who make the argument that it does racists.

It's hilarious - the left ties itself up in knots in so many of its arguments.

72 broke the logic down for you

I'm saying one of them is right and the other is wrong regardless of whether we have any way of knowing. So your comment that they are both wrong is incorrect.

Women should be free to make their own life decisions, which includes reproductive decisions. They don't need the American Taliban--often old white men in state legislatures or Congress--trying to force their morality on them, that's for damn sure.

And let's be clear about what these christian zealots and conservatives are all about. They want to force women--often young, uneducated women with little money and sketchy prospects-- to have babies that, in many cases, they are not in a position to raise properly. The kids are born into bad, dysfunctional families, often with no fathers. They have problems in life. Many of them end up in foster care or migrate to the street, and then find themselves in prison.

So the conservative politicians and moral zealots want to force women to have babies that will grow up with disadvantages--and these same GOP legislators NEVER miss an opportunity to make life even harder for them by constantly trying to cut various social programs designed to help the poor. Conservative (GOP) politicians have nothing but disdain for the poor and disadvantaged---they prove that every day. They have to find money to finance another tax cut for the rich, right? So these conservative zealots reek of hypocrisy. They don't like government meddling with most issues--except when it comes to abortion.

There is a women's clinic not far from my house--and of course a few christian crazies are there fairly regularly, aiming to harass the women in their own not-so-subtle ways. The bottom line is that women don't need the morality police telling them how to lead their lives or what reproductive decisions they should make. Lead your own life and leave women alone.

Maybe Planned Parenthood should offer a gun giveaway with some of its services--have a "win a free gun" promotion once every couple of months. That might win the organization some support from the right-wing crazies.

Its a shame your mother was unable to find a planned parenthood location

when I was young that I'd grow up to be a lot smarter and more broad-minded than all the male yahoos in the South. Turns out it was EASY prove her right.

Here's a column all Southern men--and their wives--should read. And I stick to my point: You go grill and shoot tin cans off of fence posts and jaw with the other Bubbas--and leave women alone. They are MORE than capable of making their own life decisions. They don't need a bunch of middle American male religious freaks like Roy Moore to make life decisions for them. We don't need--or want--morality police in America. It's that word called "freedom" that conservatives otherwise are always yodeling about. Women want it as well.

Hah. You're mom lied to you..big time. When she calls you up from the basement for your spam and eggs ask her to tell you the truth.

I'm going out on a limb and assuming you might not have ever actually talked to a women, let alone had a relationship with one. Correct? You remind me of a new graduate who has theoretical knowledge and zero life experience. And pro tip, they don't feel like a bag of sand..

No one is trying to take away a womans "life decision- making" capability. The decision to engage in sexual activity has a risk of pregnancy (pretty well known), which will lead to a life-changing birth of a child. The overwhelming majority of abortions happen to not deal with this outome.

But you are against a normal citizen's freedom to legally purchase whatever firearm they want. Interesting. Oh and just for arguments sake, are you familiar with the burden of proof concept?

I'd really love to know how anyone who hates everything about southern culture as much as you do ends up pulling for the sports teams of a southern land grant university.

So what?

A little hypo... There is a house fire. The house has two rooms. In one there are 1000 human embryos. In the other, a sleeping toddler. You will only be able to save the occupants of one room. Who do you save?

Most idiotic scenario I’ve ever heard. You sir are a jackass.

your hypo should read: you have 1000 human embryo and the house is on fire. Do you chuck them in or not? If you don't they probably survive, if you do they most definitely die.

The point of the exercise is to show that you don't consider embryos as being equal to a little kid.

If I understand your hypo, a living, breathing toddler has to die if abortion isn't readily available? I don't remember having to sacrifice a child for every 1,000 abortions back in the day.

Always some comparison between this or that. Abortion is stopping a heart, ie ending the life of a human.

its a weird statement. In this scenario these sound like test tube babies, many of those aren't "fertilized" as I understand it until it is placed inside a woman. seems to me you are arguing apples and oranges. and even if it is the above I wouldn't rationalize one to do the other. they are both lamentable actions that would probably cause me issue.

Embryos are post conception/fertilization.
