Plavsic denied by NCAA

Penny has managed to piss off all but the Memphis fans.
That's coming. He is so arrogant that he will cost them dearly if he sticks around long enough

I know this is being discussed in his thread but I thought this was worthy enough news for a new one.
I hate it for the kid- and for the Vols - but NCAA simply can't allow a player to follow his lead recruiter around the country...Transfer portal is a total farce...i believe all transfers need to sit one year- but do not count that year against eligibility. Exception would be grad transfers.

I say you get one transfer without penalty wherever you want. After that you sit a year if you want to transfer again.

Consistency I think is all anyone wants.

Plavsic was granted a waiver to travel with the Tennessee basketball team this season — something only eligible players are usually allowed to do. The 7-foot-1 redshirt freshman from Serbia continues to wait for news from the NCAA regarding his appeal of the ruling that prevents him from participating in games this season, but either way the former Arizona State Sun Devil will be allowed to travel with the Vols away from Knoxville throughout the season.
NCAA allows Vols' Plavsic to travel with team for road games

I guess the Lesson Learned by the NCAA and its members is.....

The NCAA should not offer a transfer Portal....

If there is not a Standard Set of Guidelines in Place to Cover all types of Requests.
If the NCAA does not have a Staff in Place to address all the Requests and Appeals in a timely manner before
the season starts.
If the Requests and/or Appeals doesn't consider the Student-Athlete First.
Unless the NCAA is willing to Negotiate for a win-win situation for all concerned.
Eligibility Rules are consistent

And the list goes on....At this time, 400 appeals pending would indicate that the current process is a total failure.

The NCAA needs to allow immediate eligibility after a student athletes first transfer, it would save the NCAA a lot of time.

I think NCAA wanted to use this situation to implement a new ruling for international students. (like a case study). But now they seem to be backtracking that idea because they might get a backlash if there are different rulings for international students.

I agree with this, imo it is the easiest way to eliminate all the questions surrounding these transfers...first transfer is immediately eligible and if you transfer again then you sit out, regardless of reason or graduating.
