I don’t disagree. That said Heupel needs to dig in and see what’s going on before making a decision. The position group underachieving is more an issue to me than just the players being unhappy. But you’ve got one guy that likely would’ve started in Squirrel and Matthews that definitely would’ve been a starter that are leaving or considering it in MM’s caseWhen folks are leaving it starts to smell like smoke.
I think a lot of players they were okay with leaving. Some were probably encouraged to leave. Leacock and Spillman were never going to play here. Webb probably not either. Nimrod I think had some potential if his hands improved. Squirrel wanted more money than he was worth here. Matthews though? That’s a problem when you lose a guy like that.Do ya think.......too many have left for there not to be a problem.
That’s the best move so far but shows who’s interested. Good move for him to go back and play for an in-state school.Seldon just landed at Virginia Tech. So it seems like nobody has yet gone to a place that has deeper pockets. Maybe these guys are getting more money as starters at VT than as backups at UT?
Matthews situation was like the Wright situation a few years ago. Get the money by playing the portal window.I think a lot of players they were okay with leaving. Elarbee isn’t going anywhere. Halzle could be co OC and QB coach. Bring in a top tier offensive guy to co OC and coach receivers. Addresses all issues and maintains some staff continuity.Pope, Ellarbee, and Halzle all need to go.
Offensive was way too predictable this year. Other teams knew what we were going to run. Play calling and game planning have been awful not to mention lack of player development on the o-line
