Playoff Chaos Tomorrow

Possible, although I think both TCU and Baylor have a better body of work.

Either Big 12 co-champ definitely has a better body of work than the Big 10 champ, but we're talking about Ohio State's brand against Baylor and TCU. I'm worried the committee will use a big OSU win as an easy way not to have to settle the Baylor/TCU debate and, more importantly, to get another huge name and fanbase into the Rose Bowl.

That's very possible. The selection process seems to be alot of politics.

Because it's the "body of work". Baylor won a shootout, at home, where a critical penalty put them in place for a game-winning FG. That game, honestly, was a coin toss.

TCU has played a tougher schedule; TCU played better, with a better record, against common opponents.

The games DO count. Baylor lost by 14, on the road, to a 7-5 WVU team. TCU lost by 3, on the road, to a 10-1 Baylor team. And TCU beat that same WVU team, 31-30, on the road. Head-to-head counts for something, but all the metrics except one favor TCU.

I happen to agree with the committee on this one.

Sorry but again, winning head to head trumps that TCU played Minnesota rather than Buffalo.

If head to head doesn't carry more weight, then why play the games?

Sooooo, it's alasalami, Oregon, Florida st., and O st.. All the biggest money makers for college ball. How perfectly perfect for the new system how that worked out. It's so convenient.

Unfortunately it looks like everybody's buying the OSU hype after their beatdown of Wisconsin.

TCU lost to a top 10 team by 3 and OSU lost to an unranked Va Tech team. Case should be closed. It should be TCU instead of OSU.

Bama, FSU, and Oregon have to be locks right now. Hard to choose the 4th. Osu has been damn impressive, and the way they have destroyed wisc. could make them go 4th.

Selection committee did themselves no favor by putting tcu over fsu. FSU should never have dropped lower than 3, even with the narrow wins. Now people are going to complain when tcu ends 4th or 5th and FSU jumps over. I think TCU deserves to be 4th, but OSU might be tempting with the recent play.

Should be an 8 team playoff like others have said. You give 'em a month off before it begins, one more game is not going to be a big deal. It's one more game for each team. That's it. Just one.

But we have what we have for this year.

If things remain the way they're going right now, my top 4 would be:

1) Florida State - I hate FSU with a passion. I was desperately hoping for a GA Tech upset, but it ain't happenning. That said, they're undefeated. Yes, they've played weaker opponents, but it's not from lack of trying. OOC they's played Okie St, Notre Dame, and Florida. All three are normally better than they've been this year. They're the champion of a major conference, and again, they're the only undefeated team left from a major conference. Maybe that doesn't matter to some, but imo, that should get you the #1 seed.

2) Bama - I think Bama is a given. I still believe the SEC is the top conference in college football, and Bama is the SEC champion. The only flaw on their resume is the loss to Ole Miss. If not for that, I'd say obvious #1, but they do have a loss on their record, and FSU does not.

3) Oregon - They're explosive. They only have one loss. They're the Pac-12 champs. They should easily be in.

4) Baylor - This one is the toughest to pick. Of course other teams are deserving as well, but there are only 4 spots, so some teams have to be left out. So why Baylor? First, people can argue all they want that TCU had a tougher schedule, but who won the head-to-head? Baylor. If I'm not mistaken, the conferences own by-laws say something about the winner of the head-to-head getting the better positioning when two teams are tied as champions. So I think Baylor should get the nod over TCU imo. So why Baylor over Ohio State? I look at Ohio State and even though they looked extremely impressive today, I think it's too little too late. Just my opinion, but the Big !0 isn't as good as the Big 12. Maybe facts will show me wrong on that, but I think the stiffer competition is in the Big 12.

Now, I know the actual final four won't look like that, but if I was voting, that's the vote I'd lock in.

I personally think Ohio State will most likely sneak in over either of the Big 12 teams, but not because they deserve it. I think the committee uses Ohio State as an escape hatch to avoid picking between Baylor and TCU. That's why I personally support an 8 team playoff.

Looks like Ohio State will get in. Hope not. Their conference stinks and, of course, they're yankees. I think the Midwest television market is too important to the bottom line of this playoff to not have a Big 10 team or ND in there. I'll be rooting for anyone who plays Bama.

It will be Alabama, Oregon, FSU and Baylor in that order. TCU and OSU will be left out. Bank on it! I dont think FSU should be there but they will be.

Committee screwed the pooch by putting TCU @ 3. Wonder what their unwarranted justification is going to be when they choose OSU over both TCU & Baylor...

TCU also got an extra off week during the season which OSU didn't get to prepare for those games.

Apparently Art Briles and the B12 commish exchanged words when he presented Briles the B12 Championship, over the whole co-champion crap.
