Playoff committee determined to get 2 big 10 teams in?

They don't have to be concerned with it yet because there's no real decisions to be made yet. There's NO metric that would show an 11-1 Michigan would be more qualified than a 11-1 Tennessee...none...zero nadda. God just bring on the end of the year I am so tired of reading about this already

Honestly Ohio State's resume would be worse than Michigan's if they were to lose to the Wolverines. Their loss would be a home loss which would be a much worse loss

Agreed, but IMO USC won't beat Oregon.and TCU has 3 tough games. With each win the pressure mounts.

But to be honest, imo if your gonna be screwed, a new years 6 bowl would be a pretty nice consolation prize.
I will not complain either way but we are so close and who knows if or when we will be here again

Per 247sports. I don't know how to link but very telling. This is what I found interesting:

"Before we get to the rankings themselves, here's a refresher listing some of key points the committee members consider when deciding a team's ranking beyond their on-field record:"

Strength of schedule

Conference championships (when decided)

Head-to-head

Results vs. common opponents

Results vs. ranked opponents

"The CFP Selection Committee has made it clear that it is not concerned with weakness of Michigan's schedule'

Strength of schedule is supposed to be a big factor in the ranking, so if the last quote is true it would make absolutely no sense. Even Michigan fans
strongly assume that we would get a playoff spot before they would if they lose to osu.

First it was they were determined to get Oregon in. Then it's the PAC10/12 or whatever they're called now. Now it's the Big10 bein' the darlings. Might just be simpler to say ABBT...anybody but Tennessee.

The simple fact that the last statement was said says a lot. It says the committee knows if Michigan loses they are out. The B10 isn’t getting 2 teams in.

I still believe if we win out, we are in. The #1 offensive team in the country at 11-1 with the lone loss coming at the hands of the undefeated, #1 ranked, SEC Champions is a lock. We will jump the loser of Ohio State and Michigan. Even if TCU wins out, we are still in assuming GA win SECCG. Our strength of schedule is and will be much higher than the other options.

If you are only going to lose 1 game, best to lose earlier than late. The loser of Mich / Oh St losing on the last weekend of regular season will hurt them.

That's one tool in the national media saying that, not anyone whose opinion means a damn thing. Relax.

Actually, the Playoff Committee would prefer no more than one team from any conference and that's much more of a threat to us getting in than two Big 10 teams. If TCU runs the table along with Georgia and OSU, those three are in. If you have a one loss USC and to a much lesser degree, a one loss Clemson - both conference champions - we could be outside looking in. I think our SOS would get us in over Clemson but since Lincoln Riley announced he was going to USC the media and all the talking heads have been in love with USC - it could be tough especially since USC would have just beaten UCLA, ND, and probably Oregon in the Pac 12 championship game.

Even more concerning for the VOLS would be if USC were to play Utah in the Pac 12 finals, thus avenging their one point loss at Utah earlier in the year.

Not true completely. They beat Notre Dame which has share of bad losses but beating Clemson gave them some mileage. Michigan's non conference schedule was trash.

Yea, I guess it’s not decided who plays yet - Oregon or Utah. I though Utah was the best team in the PAC at the start of the season and they might be - just couldn’t win in the swamp.

Loser of Michigan Ohio falls but not far, but out of top four…see UT UGA game (if they are doing this fairly) right? Maybe I’m oversimplifying

Correct. It would kind of stink to miss out on the playoffs but I will gladly take 11-1 and the sugar bowl. We are literally in a no lose situation and it feels great.

For the last time, the loser of the UM/OSU game will not make it in the playoffs. Period end of story.
Their resumes are pure trash. There is no way they are deserving considering the lack of quality wins on their schedule
