Playoff committee determined to get 2 big 10 teams in?

Loser of Michigan Ohio falls but not far, but out of top four…see UT UGA game (if they are doing this fairly) right? Maybe I’m oversimplifying
What about this final score:
TOSU 27
Michigan 13
(if that score looks familiar, I used it on purpose).
That SHOULD drop Michigan from #3 to at least #5 or lower.

They don't have to be concerned with it yet because there's no real decisions to be made yet. There's NO metric that would show an 11-1 Michigan would be more qualified than a 11-1 Tennessee...none...zero nadda. God just bring on the end of the year I am so tired of reading about this already

Per 247sports. I don't know how to link but very telling. This is what I found interesting:

"Before we get to the rankings themselves, here's a refresher listing some of key points the committee members consider when deciding a team's ranking beyond their on-field record:"

Strength of schedule

Conference championships (when decided)

Head-to-head

Results vs. common opponents

Results vs. ranked opponents

"The CFP Selection Committee has made it clear that it is not concerned with weakness of Michigan's schedule'

Did anyone notice that the AP and Coaches have put Notre Dame in the top 25? I know ND hammered Clemson, but are they really a Top 25 team? Maybe they moved them into th Top 25, so Ohio State will have a win over a ranked team.

Never been a 4 loss ND team that didn't make the top 25. In fact a lot of 5 loss ND teams make it in.

With the first poll - the issue with UGA was the strength of schedule which is why they started out at 3. You can't have it both ways and be credible.
The bad thing is SOS is somewhat of a moving target. It changes as things develop. For example, our win over Kentucky is less impressive after them having lost at home to Vandy. Wins can look better over time too. It's evolving, here are the current numbers of ranked wins of the Top 10 teams (source- The Athletic):

I worry about any 1 loss power 5 conference champ jumping us, I know our schedule and resume is better but when the last poll comes out don't be surprised if a 1 loss big 12, pac or clemson jumps us. Total screw job but don't think it can't happen.

Win out and we’re in. The vols put asses in seats and the committee knows that. $$$ baby. As Hollywood Hogan once said about Billy Kidman “couldn’t sell tickets in a flea market” apply that to TCU and USC.

There will always be gnashing of teeth. Regardless of 4 teams, 12 teams or 64 (see NCAA basketball).
But getting in will be easier.
You truly believe there is 64 teams capable of winning national championship? I don't but a 12 team field would come closer to including a deserving team than a 4 team field.

our 2 wins are in the top 8 however - and our only loss was to the #1 team.... he failed to show that stat

just like the CFP committee ...they are going to put whoever they want at the top and then create their story as to why

Michigan doesn't have a prayer but if TCU at #10 remains undefeated they're high enough to keep us out.

Actually, the Playoff Committee would prefer no more than one team from any conference and that's much more of a threat to us getting in than two Big 10 teams. If TCU runs the table along with Georgia and OSU, those three are in. If you have a one loss USC and to a much lesser degree, a one loss Clemson - both conference champions - we could be outside looking in. I think our SOS would get us in over Clemson but since Lincoln Riley announced he was going to USC the media and all the talking heads have been in love with USC - it could be tough especially since USC would have just beaten UCLA, ND, and probably Oregon in the Pac 12 championship game.
I’m going to be a big ND fan for the USC game

That’s a great point. How many fans of theirs would travel to Atlanta for a semifinal? Not many

I am not a sunshine pumper, but some (BVS?) seems to always figure out the worse case scenarios vs the middle.

If you look hard enough at all the opinions online you will find an article or two that will state that Tennessee does not belong in the Top 5. That is the piece that gets all the attention.

Again, SOS is fluid. It's all about where it ends up. Bama will likely remain a Top 10 team, LSU probably won't if they get boat raced in the SEC championship game as is likely.

How does Ohio State not have 2 top 25 wins, PSU and ND?

Again, NO. This is a sportswriter's version of the Committee. The committee will put the best 4 teams in the playoff. Period end of Story.

I’m not sure why people don’t understand this. That’s the way it’s always been. They put a 1-loss Ohio St in ahead of a 2-loss Penn St that won a Big 10 Championship. Penn St even beat them head to head. The thing that hurt Penn St was a 39 point shellacking to Michigan. Sounds similar to our beatdown of LSU doesn’t it? LSU isn’t getting in. They have shown in the past that you don’t have to win a conference championship. They just want the 4 best teams and after Ohio St-Michigan play, Tennessee will be in the top 4.
