Please don’t overlook Vandy

Funny how the presence of the playoffs have now changed college football 🏈 maybe forever. Not really in a bad way. But gone are the years of making the SECCG was the goal, than a bowl afterwards. Now with the playoffs, the SECCG is viewed as another possible loss, and teams want to stay away from that. Now this has regulated all of the lesser bowls not tied to the playoffs, the NIT of college football 🏈.

Just think about what a win against us Saturday would mean for Vandy. They would probably treasure it more than the win against Bama. It might become their biggest win ever in their minds. They have nothing to lose and a legend to gain.
Prepare accordingly. Play clean. Play disciplined, and come out from the first snap with focus and intention. Crush their hopes completely and do it right out of the gate

Right, everybody in front of us but Texas lost yesterday. It would be so "Tennessee" of us to squander this oppportunity and it wouldn't be a "bad" loss this year, but why...just why does Vandy have to be good this year????
Just looking at how teams over the years (and yesterday) have responded to these kinds of matchups illustrates how the psychological advantage is always on being the spoiler, rather than on protecting the opportunity that's "in the bag, if we don't blow it."

The spoiler has nothing to lose, and so they can play all out, conscience-free, no fear.

The one exception to that as a game predictor is if they're successful early, and they go into the 4th quarter with a 10-point lead. Then the two teams switch roles, and the spoilers become protectors of their opportunity ...that's "in the bag, if we don't blow it."

come on guys....vandy is still vandy.....brought in a decent qb who has made a few plays but under pressure he folds like a cheap rug and the d still cant stop the run.they dont have half the talent we have.lsu battered and bruised them pretty well last night.vols by 30 GBO
Doubtful. I hope the team doesn’t have this attitude. I’d trade QBs with them at the present time in a heartbeat. He’s changed their season. Arkansas didn’t have our talent either. This isn’t a gimme.

We have not set the world on fire on away games over the past three years with something big on line. 2022 South Carolina. 2023 Bama, Florida & Mizzo. away.
2024 Arky. & GA. Vandy used to be a "home" game for us but not this year! Vandy fans are pumped and beating us would make their year.

We may crap the bed against them, but it'll still be a home game for us.

THIS.

I hope our team realizes the gift they received this weekend. Don’t pi$$ it away like we did in 2022 and TRIED TO do earlier this season with a no-show against Arkansas. Go out there and do what you’re supposed to do.

Just win.

You're going to be sorely disappointed - if you were being serious.
Kick rocks dude. You told me you're not always being literal on the message board that you're just "in the moment".

Yes, Im always serious. I thought we'd beat Bama, Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma and everyone else by 50. I also hoped a meteor would wipe out the swamp yesterday and everyone in it.

And im the idiot. Lol.

This Vandy team KNOWS they can beat us, and has every motivation INCLUDING that they can ruin our season by knocking us out of the playoffs.

They will be as tough to beat Saturday as Georgia was and Arkansas was.

Vandy fans are right now studying video on how to create a home field advantage. We will get their best and their team's best efforts Saturday. The past is past. I'd say this game will be our toughest. With this Vandy staff, we now have a real rivalry.
lol, vbs has eating you alive..this game wont be close.you guys seem to forget vandy has vandy level talent.one decent qb does not change the lack of talent around him.lsu had vandy bringing in the back up qb mid way thru the game last night.vols by 30 plus..sampson gonna eat and break the all time rushing record.

Wasn’t it 2016 when all we needed was to beat Vandy and we’d end up in the Orange Bowl? And Botch managed to lose. But this isn’t 2016 and CJH will have our guys ready. They know what’s riding on this one

Way too many people are far too serious in here. We all need a little @McDad in us.

I'm not concerned they will overlook Vandy. Too much at stake. My concern is they come out too tight with all the pressure of win and in.

I heard an interesting proposition on the radio the other day in regards to getting rid of the conference title games. Instead of keeping the status quo, they would use the old Saturday title game spots as play-in games for the CFP. This is how the CFP field would be expanded. I don’t think it’s a bad idea .

I'm not as young as I used to be so it will take time...and I'll need permission from McRib, but I'm down if yall are.

For me it would be a conflict of interest since I wrote you in for POTUS. You could maybe talk me into it though. Just call me Monica.
