Just stfu and stay home if you’re done. You don’t have to brag about how disappointed you are. We get it. They didn’t win so they don’t deserve your attention.Maybe take a deep breath and step back?
You're a VFL. I get it. Back before we had VFL's, the term was "Rabid Vol Fan". Used to be my byline on VN. I have driven all over Knox County on Saturday afternoons back in '78 and '79 looking for the best AM signal so I could listen to John Ward. Was it WNOX? Too many years ago.
Passion is a good thing. Whether it's love, your faith, your profession, or your favorite team, passion is what separates the good from the great. You clearly have passion for UT, and UT Football.
As do many here, including me. But there comes a point, as it did with Battle, Majors, Fulmer, and Jones (I'm ignoring those not mentioned...they never earned the title IMO) where you question whether they still have the same passion for UT Football as you do.
We're not there yet with Coach Heupel. He has, IMO, at least another year before we can ask that question. But we are at the point where we can honestly ask ourselves if he gets what UT Football is all about.
If so, he has some tough decisions to make. If not, it will be evident in the W-L record at the end of the season.
Ask yourself this: If CJH, or the players, don't love UT as much as you do, then why are you taking it out on other Vol fans who do?
I hope they win out. Deep down, I know they won't. Unless they fix what ails them, this is a 7-5 team. Talent has nothing to do with it.
Coaching and heart does.
Go Vols.
Is Milton capable of running this hurry up offense? I have noticed that in the three games that the offense is set, but he stops and stares at the sideline. Sometimes to the point where the clock runs out or have to burn a timeout. He has all the talent in the world for QB, but is he having trouble reading the defense and calling an audible without needing it called in?
If only you were the coach...Milton IS the biggest issue. It all begins and ends with him. With Hooker we’re 3-0 easy.
Milton is a serviceable QB. His numbers aren’t terrible. So those who support him are right in a sense. The problem is he MISSES OBVIOUS and developing opportunities bc he can’t process situations fast enough in live game action. Creating those mismatches and split second opportunities is what Heupel’s O is all about. Take that away and we’re DOA.
Milton has to be benched. Nico has to start. NEXT GAME. Or we give up 60% of our O going into the heart of our SEC schedule including our fast tempo advantage before the opening KO.
If Saban can start skinny mini Bryce Young in prime time as a Frosh and DOMINATE what’s our excuse?
Make no mistake Volfans it’s NOT hysteria or Sunday morning quarterbacking IMO to recognize reality that our entire season is on the line with Heup’s choice of STARTING QB. Now that we ALL KNOW Joe isn’t the answer.
Players coaches don’t win championships. You can’t protect your players and excuse away their game day flaws. At the expense of the W/L record. That’s the road to ruin and the unemployment line.
Time to face the music
I’d have to go back and watch that one again, but honestly I just remember a bunch of short throws and getting the ball out quick. He’s just not going to scan the field, look off coverage or improvise a lot. When he finishes his drop, the ball has to either come out or look for the check down. The second he stands there looking for the 2nd route, everything seems to fall apart.
Sadly the answer is no. He just has a cannon arm and not much else. Gaston Moore would be better in this offense. Is Milton capable of running this hurry up offense? I get that he needs experience but this is NOT the kind of experience he needs. The OL has major issues and is flat out dangerous. The last thing we need is an inexperienced and talented QB to get a major injury for nothing.
Milton is not our future and he probably has no future in the NFL based on his accuracy and decision making but he is HUGE and can take punishment.
Until the OL is fixes we need to start Milton. If he gets hurt and we have to go to plan b so be it but dont risk hurting Nico or giving him a bad experience as a starting QB. This year isnt worth it.
We won’t have to worry in a couple of weeks when Texas A&M comes to town. Looks like Auburn is putting one of them on the stretcher about every play. The DC does not teach fundamentals. That is what the position coaches are for.
The DC is responsible for the scheme and play calls. Banks is doing a poor job on those.
Yeah plenty of 5 star QBs play as freshman. Nico needs to play. He also is our best chance to win this year. Joe is a good guy and a great back upTrue freshman starting at UCLA. Just do a google search about NCAA freshmen QBs - there is a long list of good ones.
Milton isn’t an SEC or Big 10 quality QB - and he is a 6th year senior.
100 percent.Yeah plenty of 5 star QBs play as freshman. Nico needs to play. He also is our best chance to win this year. Joe is a good guy and a great back up
