Please DON'T start Nico [Nico merged]

Peyton wasn't good as a freshmen. According to you, we should have gotten rid of him. People wanted Brandon Stewart not Peyton that year to be our future. He reminded everyone of Heath Shuler with his ability to run.

The backup QB is always the answer when a team loses. Blows my mind. The Florida loss was a team loss - they literally ran over our defense in the first half, scoring at will.

I’m as disappointed as anyone in the Florida loss, but it’s a 4:00 game on a Saturday in late September and the weather forecast is beautiful. If we only manage 70k - 80k for this game after one loss this year following our best season in 15 years our fanbase is pathetic. No one should be giving up this early.

THIS!

Eric Ainge played behind an offensive line that blocked lol.

Dobbs and Bray both balled out behind bad lines. Newsflash, a gamebreaker talent at QB can make a bad line look good with quick decision making, a quick release and an ability to extend plays.

There is a very decent chance that our offense would look completely different under Nico There's also a chance that he's Harrison Bailey part two.

I'd really like to at least give him a chance and know though before just throwing this entire season into the trashcan just because Milton is a senior.

Did you say this when Justin Worely was our starter over Dobbs in 2015?

Did you also say it in 2021 when Milton was starting over Hooker?

It literally took an injury to Milton to get to see one of Tennessee's best QBs in it's long history as a program to get to perform. Effin dumbasses.

Milton plats scared period.

He's scared to take wide open lanes of green grass infront if him. Scared to get hit.

Runs out of bounds instead of taking a hit to get a first down.

Panic throws a punt of a pass while getting sacked that gives our biggest rival besides Bama and instant opportunity to take an early two score lead after proclaiming on social media "I don't lose in Florida."

This kind of fear and lack of killer instinct at the QB position is literally cancerous to a football team.

The oline has been terrible but that doesn't change the fact that our leader who's supposed to represent our identity on offense is soft as baby **** and appears completely non chalant acting whenever they pan the camera over to him. Milton is clearly nothing close to what a real winner at QB looks like.

I've never seen Milton look tough nor determined to win in anything he's ever done while playing for us. Never seen him get into anyone's face as well.

Same went for JG and i always used to get bashed on here when people told me that JG is tough because he takes so many hits behind a bad line.

No ..real toughness is showing an inner fire that you will do ANYTHING to win.... it's a mindset thing.

That's why Tom Brady for example is the best QB of all time besides Peyton.

Some guys are just DETERMINED to win and make everyone else around them better.

I see absolutely zero of that "it" factor in Milton and the truth is he would suck even behind a good oline because he's a terrible effin excuse for a P5 QB in general and is slow as molasses in everything that he does.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Low Post count and a repetitive post that's really not addressing the O Line that was missing 2 players last weekend. Troll alert another opposing team Fan trying to spread discourse among Fans. Keep flaming.

I have addressed the line play. But you are acting like the line is the only reason why the offense isn't producing. That's simply not true.

Milton is every bit as bad as our patchwork line is as well. Good QBs don't look like Milton did against austin peay even behind the wirst line imaginable.

Hell JG would still be our starter if he still had eligiblity and it were up to some of you.

If you can't see that Milton is a BAD QB then you don't know offensive football period.

Everything i said is a fact.

Milton is soft as baby **** and is playing like he is desperately protecting whatever potential draft stock that he has. He's clearly terrified of getting hurt.
Most of what you said is opinion. Sorry, but that is a fact

Most of what you said is opinion. Sorry, but that is a fact

Let's make this specific then:

1) Milton refuses to run when there are wide open running lanes available especially in crucial third down chain moving situations.

2) Milton's interception against Florida was the worst by any QB at Tennessee in a very long time. It helped give UF a very early and easy two score lead. It was literally throwing the ball punt style straight up into the air while he was already falling over instead of taking the sack.

3) Our offense is much slower to line up and get the play off under Milton

4) Milton is constantly looking to the sidelines for help when we should already be snapping the ball to catch the defense out of alignment

5) his indesiveness at the line has costed us multiple timeouts now

6) the only QB at Tennessee I've ever seen run out of bounds instead of trying to get a first down and take a hit

7) wildly inconsistent when throwing down field.

I'm sure there are more but these ones stand out off the top of my head and are definitely factual.

I don’t care about his completion percentage. I’m surprised it’s not higher when most every pass is thrown with a yard of the los.
This. Always reminds me of Shaq's relatively high FG% (.580) when JMIII's completion % is mentioned. Obviously Shaq was not a good shooter, but hit many layups and dunks in his career. See Jordan FG% for reference (.497).

Milton clearly graduated from the JG school of high percent completion and timid play institute and passed with flying colors lmfao.

True freshmalen former vol QBs would like Eric Ainge, Tyler Bray and Josh Dobbs would be massive upgrades over Milton. Huge upgrades.

Are you really going to sit there and matter of factly say that pur biggest QB recruit since Peyton couldn't possibly be an upgrade?

You people freakin kill me. This is literally the night mares that was Justin Worely and JG all over again.
So nico fixes our line? Our penalties? Our defense? Our Wrs not making plays when they have had the opportunity? Or maybe he becomes Worley and we get him hit so much he's gun shy from here on. Ainge was good. Tyler Bray is not an upgrade as a freshmen. With this coach he would have been kicked off the team already. Dobbs was ok as a freshmen. He wasn't beating world beaters as a rookie.

How in the world would you possibly know that? Newsflash you don't know. None of us do including the coaches even.

From what I've seen so far Nico has better pocket awareness than Milton and can evade the rush better than him.

Good QBs make bad olines look a lot better than they are. Especially shifty ones.

Literally ANY QB would have looked better against Austin Peay than Milton.

Another thing is ...that interception by Milton literally was the dagger that lost us the Florida game early. Yeah the defense sucked ass but that one play fliped the field and put UF in scoring position immediately to go up by two scores early on. It was a dagger.

Not to mention he gas zero clock management skills and would rather run out of bounds instead of trying to make something happen in crucial moments. The guy is really really bad actually. I'm not sure why everyone can't see it.

I'll tell you one thing....if Nico couldn't do any better against Austin Peay than Milton did then that means he's a bust as a QB and player in general. I really don't believe that though. I think he would be an instant upgrade just like Dobbs was to Worely when he came in against Bama. Milton is very bad at managing this offense. His downfield accuracy isn't even the main issue with his play as bad as that can be.
I love the "Not even the coaches know" part. The dagger isnt on Milton. He got Hit as he was throwing to an Open Squirrell white on a seam route. This particular play the center and guard failed to block 1 person. 2 on 1 and they couldnt even do that. Cooper being out effects your "clock management skills" cooper is in charge of getting the Oline set and audibles for Oline. Now that hes out, Joe has to do that to. My goodness some of your comments are so ignorant but you are entitled to them. AND "Nico is a bust if he couldnt do better than Joe against Austin Peay!?!" wth? lmao.

JG was not afraid to stick his nose out when he needed to. He just had many other problems, but playing scared was not one of them.

How many times must i repeat myself?

Bray and Dobbs both flourished behind patchwork lines and made them as well as the rest of the offense look way better than they were.

I know it's hard for some of you to believe, but there are in fact gamebreaker true freshman QBs out there who do in fact make their team's line play look better than it is.

Nico costed us 6 million dollars. It's completely foolish not to try him at this point in the season against a bad opponent unless he's showing in practice that he's another Arch Manning level of overrated or something.

There is absolutely no way in hell we are beating South Carolina and Rattler next week with Milton at QB.

And if we were to lose this kid to the portal due to not giving him a fair shake with Milton's piss poor play, then that would mark the end of the Heupel era and once again make us the laughing stock of CFB. That's really what we should be afraid of imo because our recruiting would fall off a cliff if that were to happen.

You honestly believe our biggest QB recruit since Peyton wouldn't have looked better against AP? Unless he's a massive bust Harrison Bailey style, I'm not buying it at all.

Make no mistakes about it....AP is very very bad. I don't care about bad your line is. You should still be able to complete a forward pass against them ffs.

All comments about Milton were "good operationally; has good command of the offense; saw the field well......" Nothing about how well he threw the ball.

Everyone on here is rooting for Joe but everyone on here has a certain level (to a varying degree) of doubt about whether he is the Orange Bowl Joe or the 2021 Pitt game Joe.

Well. We are three games in and the coaches are still saying the same things about Joe Milton. Any thoughts?

I think they know that Joe isn't going to be able to play decent football behind a line that isn't likely to protect him for 5 plus seconds on any given play. They just don't want to come out and say it. They are also fearful of the backlash, internally and externally, that might come with switching to Nico. And that's if they even feel like he could remotely run this offense. We're just kinda screwed.

Those two plays were basically a potential 21 point swing early on in Florida 's favor.

Hadden and Milton have one thing in common:

They both suck and would never in a million years see the field at a program like UGA or even LSU for that matter.

I would say Bama as well , but they are clearly at the end of Saban's run now and for the first time in a very LONG time have failed to recruit a good QB.
Saban would not play Milton for ten minutes.

Calm down chief. That's not my 6 million anways. I don't care what they do with it. Also, Bray never had a winning season. Bray averaged 200 yards as a freshmen. 18 tds and 10 picks. So not sure that's stellar. Milton has a higher qb rating as well. So not sure where you getting this.

You gotta be like 20s to early 30s. Ainge I could see, Dobbs not so much. Lost me at Bray.

Regardless of how people feel about the QB (I personally feel it's the O-line performance that's the problem), the coaches have specifically said they're sticking with Milton so that's it. Time to either accept it and cheer the team on or pack it in for next year if you want the backup in there as the starter because it doesn't sound like it's going to happen anytime soon, barring injury. And I sure hope no one is hoping for an injury.

I wish some people could see that. They will. After Carolina beats this team they'll stop reaching for every other excuse but him. They'll be fresh out.
Did you apply for a HC job? Man if we could only put the program in your hands. I'm kinds glad you feel this way. The tn way is Joe will play incredible versus South carolina now that you want him to do poorly. The reverse jinx. Keep it coming.

If they announce they are going with Nico or even a 2 qb system going forward, I guarantee it will be sold out.

What if Nico plays, turns the ball over 3 times, and we lose the game? Would you be with that as long as the change was made?
