And what message does that send to Nico and other recruits? Don’t come to Tennessee as a freshman because even though you may be better and the players will play in front of you because due to you being a freshman?

I totally disagree.

Peyton was thrown in because they had to. I know Nico is not Peyton, but times have changed
and Nico should be aware of the possibility. He may have a rough go for a game or two, but in
the long run, he may help us win more games in the long season still ahead.

Until Tim Banks teaches fundamentals like wrapping a guy up instead of bumping him when you're literally the last line of the defense before they score, it doesn't matter. Lots of issues

Never impressed with Banks. Don't think he has the stuff to be a top not DC in this league. Not sure about others on this staff either.

We keep losing we have to. Tenn never has continue to play a qb because he was popular.

I get that he needs experience but this is NOT the kind of experience he needs. The OL has major issues and is flat out dangerous. The last thing we need is an inexperienced and talented QB to get a major injury for nothing.

Milton is not our future and he probably has no future in the NFL based on his accuracy and decision making but he is HUGE and can take punishment.

Until the OL is fixes we need to start Milton. If he gets hurt and we have to go to plan b so be it but dont risk hurting Nico or giving him a bad experience as a starting QB. This year isnt worth it.
Cut it out man Nico been in this system almost a full year now. He would elevate the play of everybody on this team

If Milton is the reason for our plain jane offense, he needs to be replaced, but only if that is the reason. I tend to agree with you on our OL, however, will it be any better next year? It seems we have a problem. What about Moore, he did look good in spring game?

Please tell me we would never hire Deion

I still believe in Hype, but I don't understand the offensive play calling, unless he knows Milton can run and execute other plays, and if that is the case he needs to move on from Milton. If we were to have to get another hc, I would love to have Sanders. He is a winner.

As I stated in a prior thread, Milton is far from the problem at the moment. It's not time for Nico, until we're effectively eliminated from winning the East, Joe starts.

A skinny freshman years back worked out ok getting thrust into the fire..Peyton looked like an 8th grader going on the field... Nico was the no.1 overall recruit... Yes he will have growing pains but he will be fine

Milton is mediocre at best but he’s not the biggest problem right now. Oline is terrible, defense is soft, secondary is laughably bad probably the worst in the conference. Nico isn’t a magic wand that makes everything better. Give him some time and protect your future; this year is likely going to suck.
100% this

So maybe we shouldn’t be playing Wright,Small,McCoy Keyton,or Milton. They may get hurt
I never have understood that line of thinking.. We need a all world Oline so the freshman has time to bake a cake, or set down to a nice lunch before he has to throw.. The Oline isn't last year's Oline, but someone that processes what is going on a little faster than Milton doesn't need one. The game is too fast for Milton and may always be at this point. He's also inaccurate which compounds the problem..

Get Nico reps in game. Start with UTSA game. Put him in - in good spots. He needs reps in games from this point forward. He has three years left to play probably and Joe has at best ten. Joe doesn't manage nor make real good decisions when running the offense. Defense needs to get with it.
