Coach Huepel any coach that has anything to do
with coaching our secondary need to be gone. This is one area with some of the young talent we have to get major upgrade in coaching before Martinez and crew screws them up.
Its funny how when a DB does ACCIDENTALLY turn his head to track the ball... he makes a play. Ever notice that? Its INSANE!!! Its shear luck, Im sure.
watching Oregon - Utah right not. Saw Utah DB turn his head and WR got behind him for a TD. That is the main reason I've heard multiple secondary coaches say they encourage DBs to NOT lose sight of the WR. they like for them to read the WRs and turn when receiver gives indication of making a play on the ball. WR coaches "love it" when watching film and catching DBs "peaking" as they call Oh, However... our DB's RARELY react, for whatever reason, to a WR's reaction. They also coach them to remain in physical contact, with a hand or forearm, while looking back.
You have to be able to read the receiver....You don't run the whole route looking back to the ball....You read the body actions of the receiver and turn your head as the ball approaches. The WR isn't running down the field with his hands and arms up...that happens as the ball is approaching.watching Oregon - Utah right not. Saw Utah DB turn his head and WR got behind him for a TD.
