(don't know if right term) the act of putting yourself into the mayhem creates a good probability that he "went looking", or, went in with a reason to be in the mayhem which means injecting yourself in a contrary position to the people doing whatever they are doing there. Even if it was to clean graffiti, this act in and of itself in that situation is something that can and will lead to escalation.

Even though I agree he should have stayed home and have questioned why his parents didn’t stop him , I believe the facts that he was helping clean up ( graffiti) could be looked at as he didn’t go looking for trouble , he stayed until trouble came to him . Lots of moving parts .

I’d think your view goes both ways.... throwing Molotov cocktails at someone and then chasing them down and assaulting them is also hunting for trouble....no? Everyone involved in this are stupid asses.

Or how about this... don't inject yourself into a hostile situation knowing **** is going to hit the fan. You can't possibly think that anything he did was going to improve the situation, can you?

If this kid was espousing law and order then he wouldn't have immediately fled home after doing what he did. He acted like a guilty person would act.

I have no issue with citizens who choose to lawfully protect their cities and towns when it's clear the authorities won't. As it turns out, being armed saved his life
