You would have to think the odds of it being Keith or Wilkerson is pretty high. I also wouldn't be surprised if they move away from having the same guy call football and basketball. Mike Keith probably won't be willing to do that, he has a cushy gig as it is and he's no spring chicken. Keith for football, move Wilkerson to basketball is my best case scenario. I have no clue who DW will pursue other than those 2. I would be shocked if they bring in a former player, whoever it is needs some sort of broadcasting background. Maybe someone in Knoxville radio?

Mike has had a great 25 year run with the Titans. I'm sure his love for them is unquestionable. Professionally, he deserves to work for a better organization. As Tennessee fans, we deserve him and his professionalism. Mike is a Big Orange guy. Please come back home to be the voice of the Vols!!!!!
John Wilkerson is more pleasing to the ear. But why limit to these two?
Look beyond the local talent and, perhaps, do much better.

I'm sorry that bringing excitement to radio announcing annoys you. The rest of us enjoy his enthusiasm.
The “rest of us” doesn’t include me. He’s too over the top and also getting up there in age like a lot of us. Find a younger guy so we won’t have to do this again in 12-15 years.

I want a true dyed in the wool HOMER this time. No calling it down the middle or being professional. I want someone that when you listen to the broadcast there’s no doubt which team they are for.
As a fan, whenever I'm forced to listen to opposing teams announcers, usually during baseball, I find it extremely unprofessional when they are straight homers. I'd like it to be pulled back just a tad.

Most fans like a energetic announcer. Ward could be loud on big plays too, that’s what most want. They want to feel the excitement while being able to easily follow your call of the game. Most don’t want a boring robot announcer for their school. They want one that leads on the homer side and gets into the games. GBO

If you could grab a cat by the tail and pull it backwards through a keyhole, I imagine the sounds it would make would sound a lot like Mike Keith.

Wilkerson is a great dude, and he is nearly perfect calling baseball. Without being rude, he would be a terrible choice for football.

I would be open to finding the best announcer in the land for this spot. I have not enjoyed Kesling, but I do acknowledge that he had an impossible role to follow. Keith would be a safe choice, but I'm not sure that we couldn't do better.

If we don’t hire Mike Keith, it’s a massive failure. Come on home Mike. You deserve this job and have for many years

I do love Wilkerson in his baseball role, but I would be shocked if he is chosen for football or football/basketball combo.

Yeah I’m also young enough to not remember that. Think I was 6 when he left, not completely sure. I know some have said they wish it had been him all this time.
I was younger, but not that young, but even then I never understood why Kesling was chosen over Keith? Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but Keith WAS a candidate, right?
Maybe there were politics involved or something? I guess Bobs work on Jefferson Pilot, has some influence.
