If you’re too stupid to read how it’s used in the rest of the Bible then there’s no real help for you.

πήγαινε να γαμήσεις τον εαυτό σου
If you possessed the knowledge of biblical Greek to which you pretend (or even that of a second-semester student), you'd have recognized immediately that what Google Translate provided you just now was not biblical Greek, but modern Greek.

(I'd translate for the benefit of the others what you wrote to me in modern Greek, but the moderators would delete my post for obscenity.)

Again irrelevant.
And I responded to you in the language you used. If you wanted biblical (Koine Greek since you don’t know what it’s called) then you might try using it.
Its definition has been demonstrated by its use in the rest of the Bible as well as other writings of the time. We can do this as many times as we need too.
You claimed I was making sweeping doctrine changes based on one word so I demonstrated the use of that word throughout the Bible. And it was exactly as I said which means you are building a doctrine off of the faulty understanding of that word.

It’s odd that you, from the very beginning made false accusations on a personal level, at me, and continue to do so.
That’s not how people behave when they are on the correct side of a debate.

I told you to “go **** yourself” in Greek in response to you calling me a liar.

Unlike you I don’t hide from anything

Edit: dickinapen said
“again you're lying, don't you have proof?

Solomon is good; he who chastises the wicked is dishonorable to himself.”

Edit: in Greek this is (go **** yourself)
Here it is for all to see.
I like the Solomon quote as from his very first post to me he’s dishonored himself.

so again in conclusion
An afterlife in Hell is a Greek fairytale that isn’t an actually in the Bible.

You only think I called you a liar because you can't read biblical Greek and Google Translate's algorithms aren't yet up to the task either.

I’m a Jew dipstick.
I speak a good amount of Greek and Hebrew.

Everyone here knows that.
I’m also pretty close to fluent in Spanish.

This is kinda like when you brought up doctrine implications so I addressed them then you said you didn’t bring up doctrine. You must get tired moving those goalposts all over the place.
Edit: you said “you didn’t want to talk doctrine.” In the second post. Which is even more perplexing. You’re not interested in how the word was actually used in ancient times. You’re not interested in how it was used in the rest of the Bible. You’re not interested in how it’s used here. You just want to argue vocabulary?
Man, I was on the money with the “go **** yourself”

Clearly I got the “go **** yourself” right on the first try though.

Try Google Translate again in a few years. Maybe their algorithms will be up to the task by then.

In the meantime, if you liked the quotation from Solomon, you can find out what it really says by reading Proverbs 9:7 in a good translation of the Bible (I quoted the Septuagint verbatim -- anyone here who cares to confirm can easily do so).

Please do so without worrying what it actually means though.

Do you want to discuss the problems and inaccuracies in the septuagenarian?

No? That’s right it’s not on your vocabulary list and you don’t actually want to discuss doctrine.

Bye bye

Καὶ πάλιν λοιδορεῖς, ἀποδείξεις μὴ ἔχων;

Καλῶς ὁ Σολομών· ὁ παιδεύων κακοὺς λήψεται ἑαυτῷ ἀτιμίαν.

For anyone who's interested, here's a translation into idiomatic English of what I wrote in biblical Greek:

You're hurling insults again, since you don't have any proofs to offer?

Solomon was right: "Whoever corrects a scoffer wins abuse."

for anyone who’s interested on the truth of the doctrine of hell. Study for yourself church history and see for yourself when and how the pagan fairytale snuck into doctrine

Lololol
Nobody cares
There might be 2-4 people reading this train wreck since it’s devolved into a vocabulary Vs usage debate.

Seems to me that the only people identifying as motivated by their Christian faith in their politics and that could support Trump are, by definition, massive hypocrites.

Respectfully, your stab at logic in this instance makes absolutely no sense at all.

James 3:1 KJV — My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

It's a great responsibility to teach and preach spiritual things. You better be right about what you are teaching.

Religion, bringing people together since the garden…
I think that’s the point isn’t it.
the way is narrow and very few find it.
40k denominations and billions worldwide aren’t narrow and few.

Then again, death isn’t death so who knows

Eternal punishment is just that, eternal punishment.

He gives a pretty good summary of what the bible plainly teaches about hell.
