years.

Watching Dan Marino right now on NFL Network in a classic game vs the Chargers got me thinking about who is the best QB, and figured i'd put it to a vote.

Aikman has a vote? I'm as big a cowboys fan as anyone, and I wouldn't vote for him out of this group

I wasn't gonna put him or Steve Young on there. Couldn't think of anyone else to round out the whole list of 10

Aaron Rodgers

I was really impressed with Rodgers until Flynn came in and put up 480 against Detroit; that planted a seed of doubt and I am now wondering if Rodgers is just a system QB and McCarthy's system is just that good.

Not sure Favre or Warner belong on this list either.

Brees either at this point, but that could change.

I believe in Warner since he was in the SB with two different teams.....neither of which had great defenses.

He's not the top guy, but he led the CARDINALS to the SB!

Brees winning a Superbowl is equally as impressive.

Warner is HOF, but I think it's pretty hard to put him in the discussion with Elway, Montana, etc.

Some of the younger folk on here may not have seen much Montana (I haven't seen much Montana myself) or even Elway so I put a couple of guys with more recent success. Probably should of put Big Ben & Rodgers on there for the youngins

Marino in his prime was the best pure passer to ever play he just didnt have anybody to go with him.

1. He suffered from never having a running back.

2. He also suffered due to his complete immobility.

3. He benefited from playing eight games a season in south Florida (while Elway was tossing the ball around in Denver).

I would place Marino very close to Elway; however, I have to give the edge to Elway simply for his two rings (even with the aid of TD).

I'm the only vote for Manning? I like Montana but Manning just dominated for years
Montana dominated big games. Big wins matter more than stats IMO. Let's face it, Manning has lost some big playoff games. I hate to say it but Tom Brady should be getting a lot of votes. He has an unheard of win %. Close to 80% IIRC.

I'm 19. I still believe Elway is the best QB to have played the game. He never played with a HOF receiver.

Peyton is the best I've seen, with Tom a very, very, very close second.

Best all around - Elway
Best passer - Marino
Most accurate - Montana, Manning, Marino, Aikman, Warner in that order imo. (Each very accurate)
Smartest - Manning (By far imo)
Best decision maker - Brady

Even though Elway likely had the strongest arm, arm strength is the most overrated QB attribute imo - as long as it's strong enough.

Another guy that could be on this list is Jim Kelly. He ran that Buffalo no-huddle very well.

A question I would pose is: Who is the most clutch?

Manning will probably retire with the most 4th quarter comebacks but he isn't as clutch in the playoffs. Favre has a ton of 4th quarter comebacks. Brady up until his last two SBs was as clutch as I've ever seen. Elway also had many notable late-game comebacks.

My 2¢.

Technically correct, but Elway was throwing the ball to Shannon Sharpe for ten years; Rod Smith was very good and so was Anthony Miller. Elway, like Marino, had targets but no great running back for most of his career (of course, TD changed that and helped Elway get his rings).

I only know this because as a Chiefs fan I watched Elway, Sharpe, Miller, and Smith continually wreak havoc on a great Chiefs defense in the early and mid-90s (Derrick Thomas, Neil Smith, Dale Carter, Deron Cherry).

You being a Chiefs fan has got me wondering. Was Montana the last QB for them to win a playoff game?
