Pollution......we’re all going to die.

Several of the last things the EPA pushed through regarding water management actually cause damage.

The epa isnt some magical thing where everything it touches turns green. Nor is it required for things to be turned green.

Never understood why you would rather beat someone the way you want them to go rather than leading them from the front
The problem I have with the EPA, and not just, "cause Trump', is that they often bow to the corporations, for the interest of the the corporations.

Dupont has done damage to the global water supply in such an egregious way, that their C8 chemical which they dumped into waterways is now found in virtually all water, everywhere. C8 was used in Teflon production.

Some EPA officials were complicit in downplaying the health risks, but this is beside the point. C8 is virtually everywhere because of willfully careless actions that have no remedy. They're never gonna admit it poses a significant health risk,. and will burn hundreds of billions to ensure that their narrative is perpetuated.

Some might say, "If you can't fix it, forget about it.". If that's how it's gonna be, we are definitely screwed.

I think this is pretty common.

The rule of thumb I was taught when it came to recycling is if its organic based just use as a finish. If its non organic non ferrous put it in concrete as an add. If its ferrous just melt it down into whatever steel you need.

We can do better, Louder. Between you, orangeslice, and myself we can invent something which will not only NOT change the world it will be a spectacular failure that people will mock for decades. You in?

I think there are a lot of things like this out there in the government so I wont label it a "epa" specific problem.

I know it serves as a big time regulatory block for small guys wanting to do business.

He brags about HE insists that we have the cleanest water and the cleanest air. and that we do.

The facts are that we do not. And its getting worse, not better. And the further facts are that his administration has been rolling back EPA rules quite a bit. He even suggested eliminating the EPA during the campaign.

More fraud by the con man in chief.

Lol

Your troll is in full effect today.

I think this is a good case as to the pointlessness of the EPA, enforcement began at the state level and through the courts.

Don't forget you can sell it for a boatload of money before it is proven to be a pile of junk.

True enough, but we need one that we can rely on.. If you're down river from another state with the coal ash dam, just waiting for the right flood scenario, someone has to step in.

But, a trustworthy EPA, I don't see that any time soon.

Isnt the EPA the ones that require the coal ash be stored that way? I remember the fuss directed at them when the one near.knoxville broke

I suppose so, but the fact that they would consider it a long term solution reinforces the need for competency.

But honestly,. I'm not sure who to blame for it.

Nice strawman.
All it means is there isn't enough profit. High supply of recycled plastics with low demand for recycled plastics equals low profits and little incentive for a company to do it. There is not a strong capitalistic market to accommodate the will of people to reduce pollution.
Except that we’re the cleanest place in the world. The socialists are the major polluters.
Given some time cleaver ****ers like me will figure it out and find a way to make money doing it.

Capitalism
Recognize a need.
Figure solution
Supply solution.

Right now we’re in the “figure solution “ phase. Some are already in supply solution mode and making money doing it

True.

I like to recycle because its a non douchebag thing to do that offsets a lot of the douchebag things I do. Sadly in rural Georgia we don't do none of that recycling crap..so I just burn everything I can :)

Used oil market is in the process of crashing in large part due to IMO 2020 regulation which of course will lead to more used oil dumping. Of course the industry is scrambling for new outlets for re-refined and off-spec product but in the mean time processors can't pay for product they have no market for, collectors can't pay generators and generators are not going to stop producing used oil.

That's a good point. Kinda like Solyndra did to the taxpayers under Obama to the tune of $600 million.
This is one where I will defend Obama just a bit. Solyndra was actually a great product and the company was doing well before the cash infusion. Solyndra was just a victim of the Democrats/Obama not understanding economics. At all. Pre cash infusion their net was less than 100 million a year, a good bit less. But they were growing and their product was actually really good, I have some first hand knowledge here.

The issue was you cant just throw a bucket of cash at a company and have it do well. The Gov was trying to artificially create a monopoly. When the market couldnt support the demand necessary to support the cash infusion.

They should have let it grow on it's own as it had been, or pulled a Telsa and created the demand to push the supply side product.

At the time of the cash infusion Solyndra had two sales reps. 1 for the US, 1 for the rest of the world. Just to give a sense of scale of how much cash was thrown at them, we have individual product reps for the city of Atlanta that represent less than a billion in sales.

They were also a victim of China stealing their IP when they reached out to them to manufacturer a mounting system that because of some of Obama's changes to regulations could no longer be made in the US.
