The only real issue is what to do with the waste. But that's a big issue. Suss that and we're good to go

Most of what I've read about the subject shows that buried nuclear waste is a far better alternative to carbon waste in the atmosphere. Not perfect of course, but a better way to go. Plus the footprint of nuclear plants are tiny compared to what is needed with solar and wind, and less resource intensive and physicality destructive like coal, oil, and natural gas.

But alas, I am neither one of the 100s of scientists and 1,224,854 lawyers here on VolNation

I guess I shouldn’t be shocked that you of all people would intentionally misrepresent what was said.

She mentioned both solar and wind and said she didn’t want to live without a/c, to do her clothes by hand, or go without lights at night. Meaning she’s not claiming “solar won’t work after dark” but rather “a full switch to solar/wind will mean less available electricity and therefore massive changes in how we live”

May have one good idea but its wrapped up in a whole lot of bat-chiz-Karen-crazy. People like her don't belong in positions of power or influence.

Was she saying “when the sun goes down you won’t have any electricity”

Or was she saying “a complete move to wind/solar would result in power shortages causing dramatic changes in our way of life”

It is right there in the video. I'm surprised she can tie her shoes, let alone speak on these matters. She is an idiot.

You are speaking about actual issues, as opposed to that fool in Georgia. Don't speak for her. And I already addressed this.

She clearly was talking about the fact that this transition would cause massive changes in how we live

He's not going to acknowledge the narrative about what she said is a false one. I'm no fan of hers, but the criticism leveled at her because of this video is garbage and an outright lie.

Germany is already having problems with power production and keeping the lights on with their wholesale transition to "green" energy.

Green energy is a boondoggle.

The issue is people like her fighting any transition. She's simply not smart enough to lead this effort. This isn't an all or nothing game yet both sides play it as such to their tribal base. The move to renewable and alternative energy is a necessity

That could be said about every single person who has ever spoke on the matter. But it’s still a valid and important point to make, that solar/wind could not fully power our current lifestyle.

Given our abundance of power allows us to have a standard of living and to do great amounts of charity for the world it’s important to point out that we will have to lower our standards and the worlds and will overall increase poverty

No, she's a special kind of stupid. There are some intelligent people talking about it but she won't ever be one. Her constituents should be ashamed

It is already a big part of some locations. Our Surabaya would not need to be lowered to move away from fossil fuels. We just need to move toward alternatives while weaning ourselves off of them. Then you spread that knowledge to the rest of the world

Maybe our worldly charity work should start to include cleaning it up and passing on a better earth to the future
