I didn't say I didn't like them. Doesn't matter to me. The coach is paid to win, the player to do a job, and if either fail they will be shown the door. Some young men and women join the real world sooner than ball players. Most find out early sometimes life sucks and you can buck up and try harder or keep failing. Keep crying on as it suits you well.Funny how the board ask for real stats until they see then and don’t like them…
Then its shoot the messenger for bringing the truth
lol
Dickey getting moved from catcher to the OF was an offensive move. They didn’t feel like they were getting his usual offense at catcher and they desperately needed it. He exploded offensively once he got out behind the plate.
People do things to themselves all the time that I find just mind-boggling. Piercing the middle of their nose like cattle. Tattoo of a waterfall on their lower back. Picking their nose and eating it. Moving to anywhere in the state of Alabama on purpose. Spending $200 on Lululemon pants. The list goes on and on. But WITHOUT A DOUBT the most mind-boggling thing I see people choose to do to themselves in engage in conversation with Bruin!?!? Why...
Man it’s simple
imo he wouldn’t sign if he thought he was going to play immediately at tenn
I mean you clearly see we took 2 3rd baseman in the portal.
it ain’t hard

He’s a high-school infielder. His position is malleable. He doesn’t have to be a 3B. Not to mention you talk about transfer portal kids being “chemistry” problems because they demand to play, but now you’re saying Rucker is not going to come to campus because he’s angry he won’t play Day 1 as a true freshmen? Your arguments are all over the place.
The fact is Carson Rucker’s decision of whether or not he will come to campus will have ZERO to do with the transfer portal and be entirely around whether they give him over-slot money or not.
just wrong
Of course considering immediate playing time is part of the decision to turn down draft money.
That’s absurd to suggest otherwise
Considering his son has literally played at tennessee basically the entire Tony V era then yeah I think he realizes what happens lmaoyou do realize kids are getting cut before classes start, during the fall and during the spring. That does happen all over college baseball but again at a higher rate under TV
You can spin this all you want but if they are committed to a school on Pg it ain’t some mythical thing
You have made it clear you don’t count players as really members of the program until they make the official roster. That’s plain wrong and clearly you are showing it again here. Plenty of commitments under TV have been cut before that happened
You’re just reaching to fit your narrative that the transfer portal is evil. Carson Rucker might not come to campus, but your desire to draw a straight line and say that the transfer portal is the reason Carson Rucker signs with a pro club is ridiculous.
Carson is talented enough to probably play a number of different positions in the infield. He could compete and win playing time regardless of Billy Amick coming here. His decision to come to campus will depend on money. Not the portal.
Yeah he wasn’t a perfect player. There were some other things that went on especially earlier in the year that made thngs weird.I see someone else touched on it with a reply- I liked Maui, all things being stated, he was a great pickup as he was solid in field and at plate, especially form SS position where those guys bat 8th or 9th. more than not.
My main problems,
(1) he is way to free swinging to be lead off hitter. He needed to adjust and choke up a bit or bat elsewhere in lineup. Seems like his back would have felt better without all the windmilling.
(2) His body language was terrible after a strike out or bad play. Let it go. That sort of thing is very contagious- especially from a lead off hitter.
I hate to say this, but I believe the coaches should have better addressed both problems. If they tried and he couldn't change then that's on him.
They needed Dickey to be a middle of the order productive bat. Weren’t getting that when he was trying to catch too. Opted for Stark who was not a good bat at all, but it unlocked Dickey so was a trade off that they needed to make. Stark was pretty good behind the plate too all things consideredThat's often the case. Catching is a full time job. Whatever you get in terms of offense from your catcher is a bonus.
If Rucker made it to campus (I do not think that’s likely at this point, but who knows) then if I had money to bet on who the starting SS next year would be given what we know today, that money would go on RuckerYou’re just reaching to fit your narrative that the transfer portal is evil.
