Skenes was the MVP of LSU and the difference in them winning a title this year and not winning it IMO, yet I’d wager guys like Crews, Morgan, Dugas would rate higher on the fanbases list of favorite players simply because they were homegrown in the program and in the case of Dugas and Morgan, literally homegrown. I agree the winning only helps to numb the “loss” of seeing guys grow up and progress throughout their career. It’s what’s always set collegiate sports apart from professional sports.I think they'll get tired of it eventually, regardless, win or lose, especially people who have seen programs built the "old way" most of their lives. Winning will merely slow the disdain for what college athletics has become. But, it is what it is at this point. We either embrace it or find a new hobby, I guess. Those are the only options.
My favorite "class" from my schooling, if a lab can be considered a class that is, was my organic chem II lab. We were given an unknown (to us) liquid and powder and had to determine what it was by the end of the semester. It was excellent honestly and I loved it. But it was in the middle of the afternoon and right outside of where everyone on campus hung out when it was nice. So the lab, even being as fun as it was, seemed like jail to this at the time college aged kid, when the weather was perfect and everyone was out having fun.
No reason to be snide about such things. That's in poor taste. Wish them well in earnest or hold your peace. I hope they do well. Sometimes people need to take a second shot in order to succeed. I don't know them, but I have no reason to doubt that they gave their all for Tennessee. These are young men, not chess pieces. In the portal. Booker & Kendro, Adios!
actually, that’s them saying Adios to the program. No reason to be snide about such things. That's in poor taste. Wish them well in earnest or hold your peace. I hope they do well.
