If what I read here is true and TV told Tommy White he’d have to beat out Zane Denton and told Paul Skenes that he’d make a nice bullpen piece, then TV single handily cost UT a national championship.

Did you know Skenes could sit 98-102 all game long last year? You didn’t because he didn’t. You’re returning all 3 weekend starters and you’re relegating one of them to the BP or mid week for a dude from a mid-major throwing 93? Maybe you’re the bonehead.

In reality, White has a fairly significant shoulder injury. He didn’t take infield at all in the postseason. He played with a shoulder brace. He isn’t playing this summer to rehab.

I respect the heck out of the fact that CTV doesn’t make false promises to land recruits. That will bite you (ie lying) in the long wrong besides just being morally wrong.

5 of 20 transfers that the 2 schools signed the past 2 years. That may be more H2H than any other combo of schools, but for the most part - both are getting who they want.

Skenes was a top 20 pick on mocks coming out of last summer. He wasn’t a run of the mill college pitcher. He was the #3 pitching prospect in the draft. He was the most coveted transfer in the portal last summer for a reason.

Hindsight is 20/20. What happens if they didn’t perform? Then all those promises would lead to pissed off fans and players that deserved playing time over them. It’s easy to look back on it and say the promises were kept. But if could have gone the other way and they could have performed like crap leading to a wasted season.
