I just don't see the I love you if you play on my team or I hate you if you play on the other team mindset when you really don't know the kids.

I hear what you’re saying (in the whole post from which I excerpted the above) and agree obviously that there are going to be good kids on every team, etc. And it’s great that Kirby has good relationships with guys on other teams — that’s a cool thing about sports, for sure.

But I’m just a Vol fan — and to your point, I don’t know Chase Burns at all, so I don’t know why Chase Burns should feel entitled to my approval or support — or why he should particularly care. I’m sure there are lots of good guys that have played for Bama and Florida over the years (🤢), but I’m not in the habit of rooting for them to have success. It’s not personal — it’s just that I’m a Vol fan.

(Sorry for picking on Chase Burns here — it’s not really about him… just responded to the comment quoted above with my perspective.)

We recruited Mookie Betts, he quite literally waited until the last hour to decide if he was going to school or taking the money. You can imagine the 24 hours before the decision on here. They just did a segment on him which is why I recalled it on ESPN. Couldn’t be happier for him, he made the right decision but it flat out sucked at the time.

Those guys on for a while, may recall before the 2022 season, we were in hysterics as the Vols expected starting rotation was decimated by injury prior to the season even starting.

To say everything turned out well would be an understatement.

Trust the process.
Rumors? ….never …
