Lol Burns has given 110% to this University for 2 seasons and next year is his draft year so I believe in team but when should these young men be allowed to think about themselves and their futures.at some point it should be me,me me instead of we. If my family and advisor said you need to do his to maximize your worth then so be it.

I haven't seen anything in here trashing Burns. Most people are saying they'll be indifferent about him at worst. People are getting a little too torn up about it. He's a grown man and will be facing much much more scrutiny in a year when he's a professional.

It could be confidence in using them. The game he waived off the coaches I thought he had turned the corner. The coaches backed off where most would have yanked him. I think I made it clear that I was simply giving another perspective and providing an example to show how agents can manipulate players. Frankly, the only folks that know what Chase Burns is doing is Chase and his family.

It’s a fine line. But it’s still a team and a program. If he wants to leave, then that’s his choice. If he wants to play for himself, then go play golf. Again, I’ve loved watching him play. But you can maximize your worth and still be a great team mate.

I guess we all can assume because the end result- if he stays or he leaves we may never know why. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. LSU pitching Coach is will be HC at GA. TCU - chasing a woman?, Vandy - Close to home but who knows with Corbin (snake in the grass), Arkansas - would be a statement to TV, Wake Forrest - Wild Card and Tennessee - Knows what to expect. Primary concern for him is to develop secondary pitches in his Arsenal. I don't know that a move will help or hurt as this rests on Burns to want it. Interesting choices and there could another wild card in the mix.

Gotcha. I wasn't sure which one, the kid from Peay did have some nice stats this year. Did this kid play at all at GT? Can't find anything on him.

I agree no matter where he ends up a 12.11 ERA will land you on the bench. Chase may not admit it but moving him to the pen was the best move for him and the team at the time. One could argue he should have been moved back to a starter late in the season but as a coach would you want to shake up the line up at that point.

If Chase stays I am going to cheer for him like I did when he struggled and if he leaves I will cheer for whomever replaces him. I am going to chose to focus on the kids who are here and not worry about the ones that are not.

I would disagree that he has been bashed. Maybe not by you but by others. I just don't get it. He gave us all he had the last 2 years. I don't think we beat Clemson or USM without him so we don't get to Omaha and don't win in Omaha without him. I can celebrate that for us and him.
Allegedly was not connected to the phrase Burns does not like Anderson's style. It was connected to the sentence before. I just think if the player gave all he had to us he would be celebrated not attacked (not saying by you but by many on here). But maybe I'm different. You would think the players and the parents of the players would be the ones who would feel like they were betrayed but that is not the case. I reckon I just need to block this thread because whether he stays or goes it will bad for him on here. I just see the young man personally and not just #23 or the Friday starter or the (fill in the blank). I see Chase Burns, the young man who helped get us to Omaha and gave all he had. Sorry. I did not mean to attack you personally.

Preacher as I said earlier I wish fans would focus their attention on the kids that are here and want to be here and not worry about the ones that are not. If Chase comes back I will root for him the same way I did this year and if he thinks it is best for him and his future to move on then best of luck to him and I appreciate the two seasons he gave us.

Exactly how I feel. He gave us two great seasons, barring injury, and even that may not matter, he’s gone after next season no matter where he plays.

More importantly, he owes no one here a thing.

This year was a great season once Burns went to the bull pen. His numbers were really bad in early league play as a starter. I just can't help but wonder if he's oblivious to that and why CTV and CFA had to make the decision they did for the best of the team.
