he can improve ya know, right?

In his case I don’t think so. The reason I saw he’s terrible goes back to the Kentucky when he was unwilling to take on the qb up high. On about 7 different occasions he and the qb were in a collision course. Every single time Beasley dive at his ankles. And every single time the qb went over the top of him for an additional 4 or 5 yards. Several of those yards after contact were the different in converting on crucial downs for them. I’ve probably watched thousands of college football games and I’ve never seen a middle linebacker unwilling to take on a qb. It’s almost as surprising that I guess none of our coaches approached him on the sidelines to talk about that. It literally could e been the difference in the game. So no…he’s not going to become a legit middle linebacker. It’s a mentality

I thought about this take for a minute, then realized it's an awful lot of judgement about a player for one game. Your entire rap sheet on Beasley boils down to his approach vs Will Levis in one game, when TN was basically running a three linebacker rotation.

Maybe the reason for the "surprising" lack of correction by the coaches is that they told him not to get knocked out of this particular game. And Levis outweighs Beasley. You just don't know.

Louisville's Jordan Watkins entered the portal yesterday. Someone that I feel like should be on the radar for a few major programs.

Not really. 7 wins. No ”major” wins. And how many of those will return next season to continue the building process?
They were all major wins for a team not expected to win 7 in year one. To continue the building process you replace them in the portal while developing the younger guys. Rinse. Repeat. That’s how it’s done now.

You take transfers every year to fill in holes, then by year 3-4 Heup's recruits begin to take over and we're no longer relying on transfers as much. Without the transfer portal we'd be god awful and wouldn't have a chance to rebuild if we have nothing to sell. It's no different than taking JUCO's, which we've been doing for decades.

Bama probably loses 1-2 more games this season without Jameson Williams and HT. Y'all saw how much he opened up their O, especially after he was ejected from the Au game.
